So the games your team won because of your defense does not matter? Like the Colts game and the Chargers game for example. The only reason QB 'X' of unknown experience was in a position to lead his team to a win was because of your defense in those games. Why cannot the same QB 'X' help out his defense once in a while by stepping up his game and covering their mistakes?

And you are right, no way anyone that understands this game agrees with the scout, and that is why i disagreed with him. But some of you folks sound here like Jets defense was the only thing that held you from winning the superbowl. Get real, lets add in Mark Sanchez's inexperience to the list as well.

The D led those games but if not for our QB making plays we don't win either of them.

The defense helped get us to each of the two title games then cost us each of the 2 title games.

It wasn't bad QB play, it was just not good enough QB play for a variety of reasons, main one being Sanchez's inexperience. When Peyton Manning lost playoffs, he did take a lot of heat, no body even gave a fuck about how bad the Colts team is without him and why they were at the big stage in the first place. Same thing applies here. People with get a little more critical of Sanchez though because he plays in NY, he plays in a very talented team.

So the Steelers lost the Super Bowl because Big Ben didnt bail out the D? Thats not good logic. If Sanchez played poorly, then yes that argument works. Because he didnt throw for 350 and 4 TD is not the reason we lost.

If our defense showed up and played like they were capable of we would have won the last 2 title games.

Peyton doesn't take the heat although he has deserved it in most of their playoff losses. peyton has led his high powered O's to 14 PPG in playoff lsoses, in sanchez's 2 playoff losses he led our O's to 17 PPG.

Had GB's D not stepped up they wouldn't have beaten Chi in the playoffs last year.

We are on page 3 of this thread. This must be one reason he did it. He's taking it to the extreme but no doubt, NFL fans and some Jet fans feel some of what this clown says. If we ever win a Super Bowl, it will be in spite of him. Pretty funny article.

I actually agree with most of what Junc is saying here.

Yes Big Ben did not bail out the D. That is my logic/opinion which a person can plainly disagree with. I believe in give and take between the offense and defenses, most of the teams that win superbowls, that is exactly what happens during their playoff run. When the defense is struggling, offense steps up and vice versa. It is wrong to blame all the bad on one department while the other one did not exactly light it up. Just my opinion.

Anyways, since you seem to disagree with my opinion (which will likely never change), I don't foresee a reasonable debate any further on this issue.

I am a very big fan of Peyton and I feel you are overvaluing the cast Peyton has around him. His offense which you choose to call high powered, is high powered in the first place because of him. Yeah, in playoffs when he faces best of the best and struggles, his defense rarely does him any favors.

'Why do people get so worked up by the opinions of some know-nothing nobody? The main objective for so many internet sports scribes is to stir the pot so they can get noticed and draw hits. Negative attention is worth a lot more than no attention and is much easier to generate than by writing positively slanted articles/reports.'

While I share your sentiment of confusion concerning your fellow poster's obsession toward giving credence to the opinion of a mediocre element such as the writer of this article, that very concept flies in the face of the concept of message forums. This person is obviously a fan of some team, likely not the Jets, and fan opinion is why we are here.

So I will avoid criticizing my fellow fan and instead laugh at the sad masquerade that is a false scout with little in terms of intelligent analysis.

Obviously he leads that O but they have had elite talent around him since day 1 and to average 14 PPG in 10 playoff losses is pathetic w/ what he has had to work w/. His Defense has been more than good enough to win multiple SBs, his D's in postseason have allowed less points than the overrated Pats Ds. The difference btw NE winning 3 and Indy 1 has been at QB.

Really? Because we haven't lost a playoff game because Sanchez fucked it all up.

When that defense shows up in the AFCCG let me know.

Your assessment based on stats is not a fair comparison. What is the sample size of those stats ? 1 game, 2 games every year? If Colts defenses have been so good in playoffs, how come it is exposed time and time again in regular season where the sample size is 16?

They win 12,13,14 games almost every reg season so how exposed could they be? W/ teams like it's all based on postseason. Who cares that Manning is great in the reg season when he cannot duplicate that in postseason?

Nice rebuttal by Angel. Good to see higher profile people ripping on Braddock.
