That is wrong in every way lol. I don't know whats up with Wright this season, but every other season before that he's been a beast.
This guy is sooooooooooo UNclutch. I cant remember the last time this guy got a big hit when we actually needed one. I can't believe people want to trade Reyes. Reyes is one of the most electric players I have watched played the game, how could you replace him? To be honest, if Reyes gets traded I will stop watching. He's one of the few things that is exciting about this team. Not to mention city field is a haven for triples, which is perfect for a guy like Reyes. Keep him at all costs. (almost all costs) Trading Beltran is a no-brainer. It pains me to say it, but if Wright was in his contract year Id trade him in a heartbeat. Classy guy, but hes just so brutal in clutch situations.
Beltran will get traded and should because there's no way they will re-sign him. The Mets would likely only get middling prospects for him, however. The Reyes situation is different because the Mets might want to re-sign him. I think they should keep him and then try to re-sign him in the fall. If he signs elsewhere, then take the draft picks and go searchin' for a new SS. In the meantime, Reyes will bring some fans to the ballpark. Beltran, on the other hand, does not have the same effect on the gate. Wright's contract is not coming to an end this year. In my opinion, this makes Wright more appealing to other teams. In turn, the Mets would get a better package for Wright than they should for Reyes or Beltran.
I could be wrong here, but I thought we had an up and coming SS in the farm system. Having said that, i would like to keep the core of young players we have....Wright, Reyes and Davis. I agree in trading Beltran though. I want the team to stay competitive and Reyes is exciting...barring injury, he should be one of the top SS in the league for the better part of the next ten years. The scary thing is he has the potential to get better if coached properly. Nice win tonite!
So now Ike is a possible dl victim and guess who could be called up....Mr Clutch himself....Duuuudddddaaaa Ref Trades I think they deal both Beltran and Reyes and get 3-4 prospects in total. Are they right moves due to Talent loss, in Reyes case no but i don't see the front office has much choice On last night Izzy and K rod have been outstanding for me this season , parnell can go fuck himself ref 8th inning / closer
Why do you think that way? Reyes hasn't stated he will not re-sign with the Mets. He said he likes playing in New York. I do not see why they have to trade him.
I just think that they cannot afford to keep Reyes , this is a $2 dollar franchise and if they have to offer $14 million per year to keep him they won't do it.
If we get another 68 rainouts we may get Santana back in time to make a difference.............. Ref Reyes I would hate to see him leave as he is a truly gifted player when fit but these owners terrify me , they are skint ( good old english word!) and will avoid making a big contract offer when they could trade and fix two possible areas on the cheap. Ref our young prospects this kid Famiglia sounds like the real deal reading up on him he looks like he could hit the rotation in 2012 / 13 or at least I hope so!!
They do it early if the forecast is bad enough. It was announced as postponed between 11 and 11:30 AM EDT. It was coming down. A mixture of rain and snow. The game is going to be made up tomorrow at 3:10 PM.
http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/news/story?id=6533216&campaign=rss&source=MLBHeadlines DENVER -- New York Mets first baseman Ike Davis landed on the disabled list Thursday, a day after he traveled to New York to have his left leg examined. The diagnosis is a left ankle sprain and bone bruise. Fernando Martinez will replace Davis on the active roster. Daniel Murphy should get the bulk of action at first base in Davis' absence. Davis' left ankle buckled when he and David Wright collided pursuing Troy Tulowitzki's popup by the mound during Tuesday's game.
Lingering back soreness. He was scheduled to rest yesterday and when the game was shifted to today, it was decided to give him the game off anyway.
