I meant by that was he is a better fit in a 4-3 and should have a better career if he plays in a 4-3 , he reminds me so much of Chad Greenway on the Vikes, one hell of a run stopper, always wants to break the man with the ball, loves to hit, and plays well .in coverage. If he wants to have a great or good career he should go to a 4-3 team.
I'd like for the Jets to look at: Blaine Sumner, DT Colorado School of Mines Ben Jacobs, ILB Fresno State Zane Parr, DT Virginia Cedric Thornton, DT So. Arkansas Garrett Chisolm, OT South Carolina Deunta Williams, S North Carolina Brandon Bair, DT Oregon Charlie Gantt, TE Michigan State DeAndre Brown, WR Southern Miss Steven Friday, DE Virginia Tech I want them to stay far away from: Kristofer O’Dowd, C USC
1. Mark Herzlich, OLB, Boston College I heard on the Dan Patrick talk radio that the meds Mark takes due to his cancer would cause him to fail every NFL drug test and the NFL isn't clear on what to do. May be a factor into why he wasn't drafted.
I would like to make a blanket statement that if this is true, and the NFL were to disqualify him from playing by insinuating he is on performance enhancing drugs I think it would be the worst decision ever. Hell even if he used the time he was on chemo to use PED's I would think he is coming out at a net loss of performance due to the cancer...
Yeah I would really hope the NFL would not stand in this kids way because of Cancer. My Lord they would come off bad.
I saw the piece NFL Network did on this kid. He has more heart than Bayer has aspirin. I'd put this guy in my locker room on his personality and drive alone. I really hope this kid gets his due, and gets a shot with a quality team.... and I hope he experiences some success....he sure deserves it. He surely has the right stuff.
Why the hate for O'Dowd? He got killed in many drills during the preparation for the draft but he was highly thought of during the season...
Watch him play, he has no lower body strength, he can't anchor to save his life. Add in his injuries, he'll be a non factor in this league...
He doesn't have that many kids haha. All of his kids were before college and I believe he is married now. He isn't the fastest guy out there, but he doesn't go down on first contact and runs hard. We don't need another RB, but signing him to a small contract for training camp and possibly placing him on the practice squad wouldn't hurt. He went to my school so I've watched him plenty and he's been pretty successful, even though he was primarily a backup when Ryan Williams was here.
Strength is one of the more coachable things... I wouldn't mind having him on the PS for a year. But yeah you make a fair point...
I am surprised more people are not interest din see what we can get out of McDaniel esp with our need at S.
You better believe if that was/is the case he will find himself a good lawyer and sue for some form of discrimination.
I don't think he can sue for not being drafted, at the end of the day, it's still the teams choice whether they want to take him or not... but as far as not being allowed to play if the NFL deems those drugs would fail him for every drug test he ever takes as an NFL player, you better believe he would sue for the right to play, and would absolutely win.
