Gm 1: Colon vs Verlander Gm 2: Sabathia vs Penny Gm 3: Garcia vs Scherzer Gm 4: Burnett vs Porcello Yankee bats off to a good start against Verlander. Cano out tonight, Nunez in and has provided an RBI double.
Results revealed that there is nothing wrong with Phil Hughes' circulation or whatever the fuck he was getting inspected the other week. This is neither good or bad news, as we still don't know what is wrong with him.
Apparently if the tests revealed something he might have missed the rest of the year. So it's somewhat positive.. i think?
They had an announcement during the game saying his tests came back negative. http://riveraveblues.com/2011/05/all-tests-come-back-negative-for-hughes-47420/
I agree that Jeter needs to move to the bottom of the lineup. Colon pitched a good game. I thought he should have been pulled after the 6th inning, letting the bullpen take care of the final 3 innings.
I dunno. Hindsight is 20/20. He was working efficiently all game and was under 90 pitches heading to the 7th.... Avila had his number tonight. Our starting pitching has been solid of late.
Yeah, I don't know if they'll be able to keep it up all year... in fact, I kind of doubt they will... but the starting pitching has been great lately. Colon, Garcia, and Martin have all been very productive pickups so far. The only real bust (and it's more than he's been inconsistent as opposed to outright awful) is Soriano. Who, incidentally, is the one guy Cashman (the fool!) didn't want. Actually, that reminds me... this place has been all friendly and positive this season. Where the hell are Alio and Don? Just checked, and neither have posted since the beginning of February. Are they on their honeymoon?
Don will be back when the chips are down to do his thing. Looking for A-Rod to snap out of his skid, and catapult my fantasy team to a victory this week. The only thing that can hold him back is durability but it's a huge concern these days, I really hope that that side injury the other week doesn't snowball.
