The schedule worked out amazingly well for me - I'm on holiday in Florida for New Year. So I'm off to see us give it to the Fish. Every time I've seen the game on TV it looks/sounds like there are thousands of Jets fans there...is this right? And if so, is there a part of the stadium we all gather in?
The seats. Not sure how you do it in England. By the last game there might not be any Miami fans there, it could be like a warm home game. Enjoy.
I've been to Miami for a Jets game and there was probably 5-10% Jets fans there. I'd imagine that if the Fins are doing bad and aren't going to make the playoffs, that the number of Jets fans will be significantly higher.
I would think New Year's Day in Miami if the Jets are good and Miami bad it could be a ton of Jet fans. The past couple years they've played night games in October when people have to work the next day.
Your nuts dude. That stadium wil be about 60-40 in favor of the Fish. It's like NY 2.0 down here. Plenty of Jets fans around that crappy ass stadium. I went to the Xmax tsunami puntfest a few years ago and there was alot of Jets fans then as well. Sadly I doubt I'll be able to make this game as I'll be saving all my money to go to DC for the Redskins game Dec. 4th. But we'll see what happenes as the time ticks closer.
I fly down to the Miami game every year. Nothing like a weekend of warm weather, booze, hot chicks, and football during the winter. Its usually about 25-30% Jet fans i'd estimate. I'm not thrilled with it being a 1PM game on New Years day this year. That said, likely still going, and will be at stadium hungover and tailgating by 930. Just need to somehow slip this plan past the wife, who may look at me like this ..
This is about right, the past 2 seasons the Dolfans have been showing up a bit more. Prior to 2009 it was almost 50/50. There's still a ton of Jets fans and we're loud as fuck.
Didn't look at the schedule but if the Jets are in Miami in January, I call Puck's guest house and I'm not sharing.
Been to every Jet/Phin game down here since 2003. 50/50 is the norm. The reason the last two years have been kinda lousy is because a lot of guys who fly in for the afternoon games didn't bother because they were a Monday night and a Sunday night game. New Year's Day aside, the week 17 game makes this a strange one. A few possibilities: 1)We've got everything locked up and they're out of it: Sea of Green 2)They're in and we're out: Not worth the abuse...I will probably go dressed as a Jimmy Buffet fan. 3)Everything's on the line: One for the ages. Have someone DVR it for you because you probably won't remember much.
I'm really tempted to go to this game. Getting up after New Years Eve and driving down to Miami would suck though.
Go to Miami for New Year's Eve and get a room. I'd bet there's plenty to do there if you have a few bucks.
I wish the fish were playing the Jets in cold weather for the Jet home game. WHen the miami game is? Doesn't really matter.
I go every year, I'd say there are at least 10,000 Jets fans in their building, and you can figure on way more than that if the fish are having a bad year.
That game will be a birthday present to myself. Hopefully it has some meaning (like securing home field)
