In all seriousness I get what is being asked. Who at 30 is a do not touch player? Each guy that has red flags also has a high ceiling - Be it Martez Wilson, or Akeem Ayers, etc. E pointed out Jerry Hughes, last year he was definitely the guy at the end of round 1 to stay away from because he was essentially the next Gholston. But let's understand that a Gholston doesn't come around often. Its rare to have a DE/OLB taken in the top 6 and not even see the field for 3 seasons and bust out of the league. So in terms of finding "the next Gholston" it may never happen. What we don't want to do is have the Jets draft the next Bryan Thomas.
i would be ok with another CP. When healthy he was one of the better QB's we ever had. He lead us to the postseason (i believe anyways) any time he started 10+ games. Obviously we would all rather a great player who is always healthy. But I will take a great player who is healthy every other year than another BT or Gholston..
For me that name is Phil Taylor. because there is not elite NT prospect he is being shoved up draft boards, when in actuality he is probably a late 2nd round pick based on talent. So I want no part of him in round 1. I see him as simply being a serviceable NT as part of a rotation (where he is at best the #2 in the rotation) who can dominate at times, and will likely dissapear for long stretches. That is not what I look for in a first round pick as far as a ceiling goes...
In no particular order: 1. You took you until 1982 to gain your independence from England. 2. Too many Frenchmen 3. You housed our Draft-Dodgers 4. Celine Dion 5. The CFL 6. Justin Bieber 7. Plaid 8. Team formally known as the Montreal Expos 9. Alaska is America's hat, Canada is just the afro that needs to be cut 10. The metric system
There is no rational argument against the metric system. Having a measurement system with the same base as the numerals of the number system is just good common sense. The rest is valid.
Ghost Rider would be acceptable to draft because his first name is Ghost and last name is Rider. Since according to Jetfan76 only the player with ghost in his last name is going to be a bust it would be a perfectly acceptable draft pick by Tanny. Although... who really wants Nicolas Cage on their team anyway?
Quick question from the UK... I see the Pats have a lot of early round picks...are they capable within the cap of signing them all?
Very much so . Rookie signings, unless its a top 10 pick , never really hinder teams no matter how many picks. They'll sign em all if they make the team.
Yeah they're in decent shape, especially if the rookie wage scale is in place. Tom Brady's contract was killer though. I'm sure they'll trade some of the earlier picks though.
remember the merriweather draft 11 guys and he's the only one who made the team. I'm rooting for this year to be something quite similar. I mean pats fans have argued in the past "That team was stacked, no way rookies were good enough to make the team!" I might buy that, except for the fact that of this list of characters... Brandon Meriweather, FS, Miami (Fla.) Pats Kareem Brown, DL, Miami (Fla.) Titans (played in 1 game in his career w/ jets, 0 statistics) Clint Oldenburg, OL, Colorado State - Redskins (Played in 2 career games also w/jets) Justin Rogers, OLB, Southern Methodist - Out of League never played a snap Mike Richardson, CB, Notre Dame - Colts (Played in 21 games 2nd and 3rd year, has played 1 in the last two years. Career stats: 28 tackles, not int's or other game changing plays) Justise Hairston, RB, Central Connecticut State - Out of League, never played a snap Corey Hilliard, OL, Oklahoma State - Lions, played in 16 games in his career, 4 starts this year, due to injury Oscar Lua, LB, USC - Out of League, never played a snap Mike Elgin, OL, Iowa - out of League, never played a snap. Outside of Merriweather, Thats four guys who never played a snap, the other 4 have played in a total of 41 games over the past 5 seasons, and accrued a total of 28 tackles amonst all of their draftees. The OL don't have measurable stats via NFL.com. but the only one likely to have any is hilliard, since he started on that awful lions OL last year I doubt his "stats" are any good... So yeah, the pats 2007 draft class sucks monkey nuts, 8 DP's out side of Merriweather, combined for 41 games played, and 4 started in the five seasons since they were drafted. So thats a total of 640 games that they could have played in, they have played in 41, which is a measley 6.4%. So yeah their draft class sucked. Even more fun, their percentage of games started of the 640? 0.625% I got the 640 games by multiplying 16 games in a season times 5 seasons (80) that each player could have played in, and then multiplying that number by 8, the number of players that could have played in those 80 games.
