I think they are meaning in a few years, not this year. He's 30 years old. I keep thinking he's younger for some reason.

Damn, that's something I haven't even put any thought into. The day will come when we have to part ways with Bart Scott and that's going to suck.

Yes, Bart retired to pursue a career in pro wrestling this offseason:eek:hmy::grin:

Bart will be 31 when the season begins but he's not a RB, he's still in his prime and has a few good years left but it never hurts to have an eye on the future.

As much as I love Bart Scott's intangibles, I hope I'm not the only one who realizes how mediocre he was this season. He would have been invisible without the mouth.

He wasn't mediocre at all, he had a good season and has been worth every penny. It's hard to evaluate a player like that since he isn't a stat player. He's a guy setting things up for others to come in and clean up so they get the glory but Bart is one of our most valuable players on defense.

He's arguably the best Ted linebacker in the game and fills his role on this team perfectly. It was unfortunate to see Mendenhall run over him a few times in the AFCCG, but to say he was mediocre last season is beyond ignorant.

    I hate statements like these.

Bart played his role in Rex's D very well, which is filling the gap, absorbing blocks and making sure David Harris can make the play. Bart still had twice as many tackles for a loss then David Harris did.

Bart is the leader of this defense and that can't be understated either. 81 tackles this season for him is good considering his role.

If not for the game he had against the Steelers in the AFCCG, we probably wouldn't be talking about this right now

Well if you're only talking about stats then yes Scott is invisible.

Scott's role won't get him a lot of tackles because he's more focused on blowing up leading blockers ... which mean the opposing ball carrier has no protection as the rest of the Jets' tacklers close in on the play.

How often have you seen Scott's LB or DB teammates having to blow through a blocker to make a tackle? Scott just can't rack up stats with his current role in this defensive scheme.

Look at his role similar to Nose Tackle (which also is not good at racking up stats) ... hence zero NT in the HOF.
