Yes. The selection of Jake Long obviously has made us a playoff contender for years to come.

Where is your information coming from that Parcells was less inolved in our 7-9 2009 season than he was in our 2008 11-5 season?

I never said it was good that he is gone. Obviously he is better than what we had before. On the other hand he wasn't getting the job done the past two years. Accountability starts at the top.

LOL my mistake in taking your jab at dumb fans as an effort to act like it wasn't a bad pick initially.

As far as being smart, you aren't smart enough to see why you and the above poster's obvious unprovoked disdain and condescension would be reason for somebody to not want to post as a fan of a rival team so that they would be taken seriously.

    Grow up

On my phone, so I can't go through the news archives. The reports then were that he was starting to lose interest, especially after Pennington's injury. Hell, I'm not sure how interested he ever really was given that he was advising our coaching search right after winning the division.

If that's not what you're saying, then there was no reason to dispute my initial post. You said it wasn't spin to call his departure a positive. His "job" last year was that of a consultant. He wasn't at the top of anything last season. So yes, accountability for last year does start at the top, and that top is still in place.

We've had fans of your team on here who go through relatively unmolested. You never even gave yourself a chance to be taken seriously as a Dolphin fan. You are treated with disdain and condescension because of who YOU are, not simply the team you root for. It just so happens the majority of Phin fans, particularly on this site, are morons. The few decent and informed ones don't suffer enough by association to have to mask who they are.

Love the post ending two word maxims.

Well given that you know of these "reports" I can't imagine why you think it is spin to think a disinterested guy leaving is a positive.

I disputed it because I can see why some fans would see it as a good thing. That is not what I personally believe. Parcells was still the top dog in 09 when the backslide started, unless you show me something to say otherwise.

Haha I feel sorry that that is what you actually believe. Maybe not you, but a lot of people on this board are just flat out dickheads first and ask questions later. You cannot tell me truthfully that people of this board are unbiased from the jump when it comes to Dolphins fans

There have been a lot of mistakes made by the Fish regime that have kept them out of the playoffs, but it's moronic to say that taking Jake Long was a bad choice in any possible way. When (if) they make the playoffs, having an offense built around the dominant force that he is will be the main reason.

There are different levels of mistakes. And it is different to say that it was a bad pick in perspective of what we missed out on than saying it is a flat out bad pick. Again, no matter how good your left tackle is, he is never going to have the impact that the same level of QB would

I don't really see the argument that this hurts the Dolphins. If he wasn't less involved in the last couple of years, their poor performance hardly argues for his leaving being a loss; if he was less involved then it probably won't make much of a difference, since he wasn't doing much. Either way, I also don't see much of reason for it to make them particularly better, since they haven't replaced him.

Parcell's bonafides as coach are impeccable; his performance as a GM/VP of Operations has been much less impressive.

Parcells was out of Miami the moment they sold the team.

I've been saying this for years. The game is passing him by every season.
