Maybe we're waiting for the right situation to present itself. It's not like we've got to have somebody yesterday because we're SB contenders this year. I like the way Tangini is building this thing... solid from the ground up. Assuming we can get this thing on some sort of half-assed track this year, we've got an entire year to bring in one, maybe even two really good guys. By then, Coles will be in the twightlight of his years and McCareins will probably be gonzo. I'm looking for Cotchery to have a good couple of years for us.

^I've said it before: I'm perfectly willing to be patient for the right reasons as to the future success of the team. If you read back, it's just a general gripe, similar to what I've felt about our CB situation in threads past. For example, we all know Aron Glenn's ability and level of play belied his height so I'll quash that up front, but historically speaking, c'mon, what's with the midgets already?! Height is NEVER A BAD THING and a BUILT IN ADVANTAGE OVER OUR OPPONENTS is nice. I'm all the for the little guy, but having some VARIETY would be GREAT and perhaps create CONFUSION and challenge OPPOSING DEFENSES. Besides, what kind of a Jets fan would I be if I didn't pepper my love for the team with some kvetching? It would be so...wrong. Hehehe.

That being said, what I DO want to see this year is the CS shaking up some rocks in a can, spilling them out, and seeing what we've got, which is precisely what I expect them to do. If I see a good general foundation forming, I'm more than OK with that. I can take losing if it's the productive sort.

Anyway, I'll take BIG MEAN FAST WIDE RECEIVERS for two hundred, please.

We have a #1 in Laveranues Coles whose turning into more of a posession reciever and then 3 back-ups in McCareins, Cotchery and Dwight. It's not looking good. If we don't go NT, Pass Rush Specialist or RB in Round 1 next season I think it should be a given that Calvin Johnson or Dwayne Jarrett should be on our radar screen.

Thanks to that creep Herm, all of the offensive skill positions are a mess, not just the receiving corps. In addition to using the draft, getting rid of Chad & C-Mart should free up some salary cap space for a free agent signing or two.

Cimini has said that the Jets think there is NO way Tim Dwight will even be a number 3 reciever......In my opinion, I think Coles will be back, he is still very fast and tough over teh middle......I think Mccareins is too good of a pro to not spend this whole offseason catchin balls from the jugs machine, I think he will have a huge turnaround this year......I am still upset Santana is gone because once, we had Coles and him.......anyway, Cotchery is the real deal, he is solid and could have a breakout year, we will have to wait and see how Brad Smith is and also we have Baker coming back at TE and he could catch.....then there is also Jolley......What would you guys think about getting Lelie? He is pretty good and also Branch wants out of NE but that is highy unlikely

Branch I'd take, but won't be here, no question of that.

No freaking way Dwight is the #2 receiver this year. ANd if he somehow is? God help us all.

The WR corp of this team is the weakest link. In fact, it hasn't been very good for a long time. We have no true #1 receiver, and I see nobody on the roster who is a true #1.

Once we figure out who can throw the ball, then we worry about receivers.
