Saw these both and thought it was important since it does have some direct effect on the Jets, if this needs to be moved to the NFL section please go right ahead, I understand. Whats your guys feelings be about Palmer being the Fins new QB? I know at 31 he's a bit old but with targets like B Marshall and Devon Bess he'd be alot better then Henne ( not saying Im concerned just stating a point). Also with the Pats possibly trading #28 this could really help the Jets get that pass rusher they so deperately need. Unless they pick one at 17 which I think there will be better players there then Houston, Ayers, Reed, Kerrigan, and Aldon Smith. Another thing this pick could do for the Jets is that teams that lose out on trading up to the Pats could come to us and say theyll offer a similar package for #30 ( possibly trading for a Olineman or QB ( Locker) ) All I know is both will get interesting and could effect the Jets tremendously.
Palmer doesn't scare me, I think he's better than given credit for of late but he's not anything special. Have him Phags. NE* shopping their pick?? Pure genius. Nobody ever does that.
I didnt say its a rarity, I said , draft wise, this really increases our chances to get a better player since the Pats have the same needs the Jets have (OLB, DE, Safety, OL)
the jets have been barely beating the fins with that hack as the qb. put palmer in henne's place and instantly upgrades miami offense. no worries though, cinci isn't dealing palmer, they're going to force him into retirement.
Well it possibly effects the Jets draft wise and play wise. Like I said if a mod wants to move it i understand but these two stories could effect the Jets big time. Imo.
In all honesty, I think Henne is still their best option for next year. If they can get him some support in the running game, I think he still has a shot to be a decent QB for them. I'd give him another year and bail if he doesn't show something this year. I'd find a one year rental to battle it out with Henne and look for a franchise QB in the draft next year unless Henne has a miracle comeback. I hope they sign Palmer. He'll set them back a few years in developing a young QB and I think he'd be an interception machine trying to force passes to Marshall. He might be a little more effective than Henne this year, but not in the long run. I wouldn't mind seeing Palmer have a comeback year, just not with anyone in the AFC East.
31 isn't old for a QB, but Palmer doesn't scare me at all. Anyone know what his record against us is?
I'd assume 1-5 or 1-4 ( doesn't have the thanksgiving game counted in the link yet ) Http://www.bengals.com/team/all-time-results/jets.html Palmers been the starter since 2004 but not sure if he played in all of those 6 games since 2004 because of injuries.
this. Palmer never recovered mentally after Kimo rolled his knee...he's played jittery ever since, imo.
