In hindsight, this was the only place he could have ended up.
Hope it doesn't end badly for the Bengals and I'm glad we didn't give up our third for him.

In other news, the Bengals have hired Stanley Wilson as assistant running backs coach and Dexter Manley as a special defensive assistant.

Talent-wise, Brooks is a steal for a 3rd rounder. We'll see what happens.

Does anyone know how the Bengals moved ahead of both Frisco / Miami???....

I didn't know you could leapfrog other teams in the Supplemental Draft, without giving up more than one pick in the process. It's not like the NFL draft where you trade up with someone. How'd they do that???....

I would not have wanted to use a 3rd rounder, but he seems to have a lot of upside

I'm assuming that SF and MIA offered less than a 3rd rounder to get him. Earlier this morning I was hearing he would go for a 5th so maybe they expected something similar?

I can understand the Bengals reasoning considering that they have to overtake the Steelers in the division.
Bengals are exactly the type of team that can take the risk of Brooks. If it succeeds than they move up the list for SB favorites.
If it doesnt then it doesnt hurt them that much.

Like they said this appears to be the primary reason for selecting him.
I don't know about that strategy though. Replacing one head case with another.

I think it is about time to back off of my Bengals backing for the AFC crown. On the bright side, maybe their defense will take a hit and force Palmer and Johnson to score more thus helping my fantasy football team

The last thing the Bengals need is another player with character issues.

Thurman-Brooks-Pollack = Young and very talented LB core. The Bengals are set if Thurman quits the substance abuse bullshit and if Lewis and get Brooks' problems out of him as well.
