The last couple of years my interest in the Mets as really fallen. The Jets and Mets use to be 1 and 1a in terms of my favorite. However, the last few years the Mets have fallen to 3rd behind the Jets and SJU B-ball. I've decided to try to get more into the Mets this year and bring up my interest in baseball to what it was a few years ago.

For some reason I feel the need to be clear that I was still a diehard fan. I still watched every single game, IDK I wasn't into it.

Good move to get it out of the way early. He has a good enough arm, this could work out well.

I agree, At least this looks like the Mets will handle this properly. Which for some reason can't be said about the Mets that often.

Very happy that Beltran didn't bitch about this and realized that pagan is better for CF at this stage in his career. A small glimer of hope for this season.

According to reports, Beltran actually initiated this move. The ultimate unselfish move. Beltran has gotten an unfair rap as being a selfish player who doesn't care much about the team or winning. This position move proves that the opposite is true.

Beltran has been to my mind unfairly trashed ever since he took that called 3rd strike from Wainwright (who just so happened to turn out to be one of the best pitchers in baseball). If he can get back to the level he was from 2006 to the middle of 2009 he would make the team far better. I don't know if it will happen, but it's worth a try.

Damn if we didnt lose game 7 we probably would have one multiple rings over the last 5 years or so imo. fucking christ. I just want 1 ring for the Mets in my lifetime. That 2006 season was so magical, i will never forget it...

Let's be realistic. This move was being called for all of last year by everyone with any knowledge of the game. He was going to be in RF this year if he wanted it or not, so he may as well do the "PR friendly" move and "offer" to move.

Good move for the Mets regardless, I just don't think there is any glimmer of hope that he will go back to where he was before the injury derailed him, I don't think he get's even close.

You think losing game 7 caused the Ponzi debacle, the injury bugs, Omar Minaya, etc... ?

    Delusional.

2006 was magical, in his opinion. He's an idiot, regardless.
