I know, he's making his case for getting shown the door. He has a 1st round replacement right behind him and he's going to ask for a lot of money, Cro is not helping himself IMO.
Despite what both sides have said, I just can't picture there being no football next year. For the benefit of both sides,a deal must get done. A lockout would set the league back 4-6 years. Look no futher than the NHL. There was virtually no interest in the NHL during 2005-2006, the first year after the lockout. They are just getting back to where they were now. Granted the NHL wasnt as big before their lockout as the NFL is now, but it would still be bad for the league. Too much to lose for both sides
I think alot of people are overlooking the fact that its not just the players that wont be working....its the people behind the scenes that don't make 6 figure salaries that are going to be hurting.
What have other players said about Cro I have not been paying attention to anything football since sunday. I just heard about this watching Jim Rome
And we cant forget about the fat japanese guy who eats the boiled eggs before every game. He would be a helluva replacement for Mangold.
I do believe hasselbecks a bald headed turd but wtf is wrong with cromartie. "I WILL SMASH YOUR FACE IN" Lmao, are we serious here.
cromartie really isnt very smart. guys like him make real douchebags like goodell think he is doing the right thing and succeeding.
if theres a holdout......they should have public try outs for an over 40 scab league.... be funny as hell
I know you're joking but I want to clarify something. If there is a lockout, they cannot play a season. This is something the owners, not the players, are doing. They can't bring in "scabs" and play any type of season.
I was also thinking about this today. Part of me is hoping for an NFL lockout just to see what would happen to the UFL. With only 6 teams, and even if only some of the NFL players rush there, you'd still have 6 loaded teams, right? UFL Fantasy Football would be interesting too. Now to decide which of the 6 to be a fan of.
You CANNOT give this guy millions of dollars... Let him walk.. Won't we get a comp pick back? ... Whatever..... Let him test FA and come back at a discount if he wants to be a Jet. HUGE Liability.
That would be the only thing to help soothe the sting of losing our 2nd rounder. Though I still think it is a long shot. I say we offer him $5-6 million/year, 4-5 years, with 40% or so guaranteed. I'm not really even sure I want him back, definitely not as a person, but we could sure use his skills on the field...if the price is right. Just curious how you see that going down? This could also help ease the sting. The thing is, we should be getting a 3rd provided he turns down our offer of 5-6 million and takes more somewhere else. He fits all the (known) criteria for a high pick: High salary, played every game, shined in the postseason where he was most definitely our ST MVP.
The best thing about Antonia is that no one will know who he is within the next 4-6 years. Except for local state agencies that collect on delinquent child support payments. Not flaming a rival board here, but if you can't see what a POS this guy is, you're blind.
