Yes, and he was also catching short passes from Mark at USC and looked pretty good doing so. If he could transfer some of what he showed on the field at the college level (albeit against lower level teams), he'll be a great back for the Jets.
Ricky Williams? No way... I see where Hershel Walker beleives he could still play in the NFL....let's sign him!! (dripping with sarcasam) I think LT will give it one more go next year with us. With the right attitude during the off season McKnight will see much more playing time next year, which is only that much more of positive for LT to want to stay - and for us to keepo him - as he will be healthier / fresher as the season goes along. No EOY fall off in production. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Herschel-Walker-age-48-play-in-NFL-012511
A lot of good his "leadership" skill was doing when he was averaging 0 yards per carry against Pitt. We have enough leaders on this team, we need football players who don't wear down after 6 good games.
lt > ricky but lt needs to be put into his intended role: 3rd down/pass catcher. let greene carry the workload next year.
Implying that he didn't do nothing in the game. Keep up your crusade! the more i get to type ricky williams the better. Seriously whoever made typing ricky williams post this sign is freaking genius. P.S. Don't capitalize his name if you are testing this.
This is what I'm hoping for also. LT has great hands & very reliable check down receiver for Sanchez. He also seems better at pass protection. LT might be at end of his career but still has the skills to be a reliable third down back. Greene should be getting most of the carries & hopefully Jets can start increasing the opportunities for McNight as well.
No Brandon Marshall, Karlos Dansby, or Davone Bess? Part of the problem with Williams last year was the fact that Dan Henning gave him anywhere from 2-7 carries a game usually... How the hell can runningback get going on so few chances? You think Schottenheimer is bad? Henning is the epitome of terrible offensive coordinators. Cannot believe how he repeatedly gave Brown and Williams about 7 carries a game. The best example is when Miami played Baltimore and we ran the ball so effectively the first drive. I mean we were gashing them from big runs of 10, 12, etc. What does Dan Henning do? He decides it would be a good idea to go pass happy and only run the ball 2 more times the ENTIRE game. So if it comes down to LT or Ricky, it's really a toss up. LT will fade as the season goes on, as you guys now know. Ricky will be explosive at times and be better suited in a splitting carries role with Shonn Greene. With the said, less than 10 carries on average isn't gonna do it. I know you guys run the ball a lot, but with Ricky it's very critical too give him chances. If he splits carries, he has a knack for being able to really close out games well. I can remember countless times where towards the end he would just break away and be gone. If it were up to me, Ricky would be a Dolphin next year. Most everyone knows that Ronnie is gone, but Ricky is the big question mark. I'd say right now its 70:30 as to whether he goes or stays.
Hahaha. No. LT is still better at pass pro and McKnight and Greene still need to work on pass pro. He would be very valuable as their version of Brunell and, despite the stupid call against the Steelers on 4th down, the guy can still run it at the goal line.
