I hate his guts but I agree. Changing it up now would hurt Sanchez. Plus...we did get to the AFCCG two years in a row so something has to be working. Changing offenses constantly can destroy a QB's career...Jason Cambell anyone? That poor bastard has partically had a new offense every year hes been in the league
That should have gotten him fired on the spot. The problem isn't totally Schotty. It's Rex. Can you imagine Parcells on the sideline, in the first quarter watching yet another misdirection play lose 4 yards NOT GETTING IN HIS FACE to the effect of, "one more of those, and you can start the offseason right f*ng now."
If there is a god I will never see Shotty again in my lifetime and (insert the worst thing you can think of) happens to him.
A few more vertical plays would be nice. But with the whole collective bargaining thing coming up, it might be better to replace him with someone in house. I could buy Callahan. I just cannot stand B. S. any more. Too cute for comfort.
Shonn Greene must of fucked Schotty's wife, because it makes zero sense to run LT all those times. He runs Shonn along the outside, but LT up the middle? what the fuck!?!? per cimini LaDainian Tomlinson -- 37/57 snaps Shonn Greene -- 20/57 ^ WTF they also ran the ball 9 TIMES EACH. WTFFFFFFFF
Why not? It's not like it's that great an offense as it is. I'm more concerned with Schitty holding Sanchez back than another OC coming in here and turning him in to the superstar QB inside him that's been made dormant by Schitty's awful offenses.
I hate to say it...but Schotty should've been fired when Mangini was let go....that was our window. Rex could've brought his own guy (most likely Hue Jackson) and the Jets truly would've had their fresh start on all fronts. But now Schotty has time invested in our franchise QB. If we fire him now, how much of a step back does Sanchez take by learning a new offense? Are there any viable replacements available? I don't want some random hack replacing a hack we already have. I've been calling for Schotty's head for years.....but now....because this team is so close to making it to the super bowl....I'm not so sure firing him would be in the team's best interest. I would love to see it happen.....but the ramifications may not be positive right away. Sanchez would need time to get acclimated to a new offense.
some other posters have suggested that Callahan could be promoted if Schotty was fired...that would be the ideal situation.....Sanchez wouldn't miss a beat then.
Maybe that would work...anything is better than what we have now. After watching Sanchez throw nothing but dimes in 5 degree weather in an AFC CG on the road against a fierce Steelers defense, I know it's not the QB that's the problem. Even before Sanchez, Schitty's offense was pedestrian.
Bingo. Was just about to qualify my vote by stating that I don't want to lose Callahan to another offer. It was smart to make him Assistant Head Coach in addition to his OL duties, but it's time to let him assert that position on Schotty and tell him to fix his playcalling.
Callahan-OC & O-Line Cavanaugh- QB coach Shotty-Who gives a shit just not an OC...maybe OC assistant or GTFO
Here's that argument again. Sure, let's settle for mediocrity just so Sanchez doesn't have to learn a new offense.
