And....I'm with you. Yeah. Making it to the AFC Championship 2 years in a row is cool in the big picture. Sadly, I've been watching so long, anything less than an SB is meaningless.
cant take an opinion that is the opposite of urs? you're the idiot the stars were aligned for this year and they blew it. too many ?s going into next season... lots of fa's.
No I just think its common knowledge and a known fact that anyone who doesnt believe in Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez is an idiot.
Yeah stars were alligned, I mean we had a 2nd year QB who had a very very rough first year. 2 of our best players on defense were on IR. Our pass rush was non existent the majority of the season. Our QBs newest weapon was suspended the first couple of weeks and probably still hasnt gotten a chance to truly get on the same page as our qb. One of our best oline guys also ended up on IR. We have one of the best, most talented teams in the nfl, with imo the best head coach in the nfl. The stars are going to align every god damn year until Rex gets the job done. And then were gonna go do it again. Anyone who doesnt buy into that should go be a Giants fan and can go bitch about Eli Manning all season long. Oh and when the stars align in back to back years, that probably means its because your team is doing things right and not because of destiny or any of that nonsense.
This loss was like a butterknife being slowly shoved through your neck. Truly painful but i want to thank the jets for this great season. They could have mailed it in after that horrendous first half but they didn't. Outside of some questionable play calling and not scoring on that goal line stand by the Steelers in the 2nd half, they didn't give up and actually made that stadium uncomfortable for those fans even if it was just for a short while. Our team is on the rise, with a young QB who is going to be a great player and leader, i'm as crushed as anyone about the loss, but we have a lot to look forward to, hopefully there is a football season next year. I can't bag on my Jets, they have given us a lot the last 2 years.
other teams had injuries too.. and its magicaly gonna be fixed next year? maybe theyll find a gholston in the draft//// disagree about not getting a chance; they hooked up alot.,and he may not even be here next season same w/ other teams...... heard this since july, never really showed. as for best coach, u cant tell me his offfield crap doesnt create an issue for the players. they beat, what, 3 teams with winning records this year? and had trouble with teams like lions and browns..... u can have all the talent on paper in the world.. if they dont show up on the field on sundays, it means nothin. are u rex, cuz u sound like him. all talk... he said the same thing after tonights game, its as if the jets are the only ones that operate under a concept like this..... earth to rex, every team tries their best to win the superbowl. u dont get closer by shouting it publicly every pressconfrence you dont seem to understand what the "stars aligning" means. jets put their best team in years on the field this season, beat a colts team that was killed by injuries, beat a pats team that managed to go 14-2 in a rebuilding year w/ a qb that had a fractered foot. vs a steelers team they should have beat, they blew it. i doubt theyll get that 'lucky' again. good team? absolutely, but they blew thier best chance at a superBowl in decades. plus a lot of their vets are closer to retirement now, couple that with the amount of free agents and uncertanty with the cap. yes b/c standing back and takin a look at the big picture instead of drinking all the koolaid comin from rex and the boys is such a dumb thing to do. :rofl2: ya well w/ all the talk about a superbowl this year and how its the greatest team ever, they didnt improve did they? no home playoff game again, no further in the playoffs despite more experience from last season
I'm disappointed like everybody else but what did you guys expect?? Winning 3 road games against the best 3 teams in the AFC is a tall order for any team. The Steelers are a tough team who we were very fortunate to beat in the regular season. Not sure why so many Jet fans felt like this was a slam dunk. To me, this team never looked like a championship caliber team throughout the regular season. Maybe if we can protect our core of young players and build through the draft instead of mortgaging the future for aging vets, we can build something that is sustainable.
I just feel like this was our best shot for the foreseeable future - making the AFCCG 3 years in a row? Not likely, in fact very unlikely, to happen - especially given we are more likely to be putting out a worse rather than a better team next year Like pretty much every team, it all comes down to the QB - if Sanchez makes big strides and becomes an elite qb we can do it, if he doesn't then we won't. Its nuts how in a team sport probably 75% of your success or failure ultimately comes down to 1 guy on the field.
I think we are becoming like the Bills in the 90's, always getting there but never winning it. Except they were losing in the SB.
Seriously though, congrats Jets on a great season. I know it's bitter to come so close again, but the Jets are poised to have an OUTSTANDING next 5 years, and I have a feeling a Lombardi will be in the cards.
good runs and moral victories are what people say to feel better about a loss. This team was built to go to the Super Bowl, they had the talent, and they had the opportunity. They just failed to show up for 60 minutes in the biggest game of the season. A good run was nice last year with a rookie QB and a rookie coach when no one expected it and people predicted a losing record, but a good run sucks this season. Plain and simple a nice season isn't what they have fans expecting - it was Soon To Be Champs and they didn't even win the east. They were a shitty home team, they failed way to often to get the offense started in the first qtr, they still played down to opponents - elite teams need to play elite and even though they had good results they need to get better.
