Tonight there were errors on both sides of the ball. Offensive play-calling was suspect, and we played a bad game overall and lost. Despite this, I loved this season even though it ended like this. We beat the Pats twice and had a 5-2 divisional record including the playoffs. Anything less then a SB win is not enough in general, but i've been to 9 Jets games this season and it was by far worth it. Anything less then a SB will be regarded as a failure, and I see the argument that we were "gunning for it" but I see the team reloading for another great season. If Sanchez can just slightly limit his INT's and if Bryan Schotty can get even slightly more nuanced I see an AFCE championship. Go JETS despite a bad night overall.
Baby steps, I just want to get to a Super Bowl first.....I'm dreading facing the Steeler Fans at Work tomm!
I agree. It was a bad game, no argument there, but I just want a SB appearance before we talk about hoisting the Lombardi . We will be there in the next couple of years despite tonights bad performance.
We messed up on both sides of the ball and damn near won the AFC championship game. It is absolutely a failure, but it gives further indication that this team will be back. We are gonna be a AFCE champ next year, and if you look at the Cowboys, Giants, Chargers, Chiefs and Jaguars at home, then I do not see how you can say we will win less then 11 games next season. GO JETS ... F the patsies ... and who cares about the SB at this point
I'm worried the team may take a step back next season. The 2011 schedule figures to be significantly tougher than the one the team faced this year. Rex and Tanny can't stand pat this off-season. The team needs to improve to compete next year.
While I agree we need some moves look at our schedule: http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/art...pponents/2dea0ae0-8cb8-463e-bb7c-410d7fd70c2d Aside from Baltimore Away (maybe philly too, depending on Vick) how are we underdogs unless we lose a bunch of talent??
Patriots aren't going away. They Will almost definitely get better and they were pretty damn good this year. That's my #1 concern. I really feel like we're not going to take that next step until we can win the division and get a first round bye and host at least one playoff game.
They play the Colts and Steelers as non-divisional AFC opponents. We play the Ravens and Jaguars. I think we are +1 next season as I feel the Jags will be an iffy team. You always know the colts and steelers will put up a game.
We played a bad game and almost won the AFC championship game: http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/art...pponents/2dea0ae0-8cb8-463e-bb7c-410d7fd70c2d Unless other teams gain unknown talent or we lose a lot, we are a AFCE champion next year.
fuck all this futuristic bullshit guys..u never know what can happen we got ALOT of breaks this year winning games those same breaks can go against us next year, new england is up and coming and has a shiiiit load of draft picks oh not 2 mention what if we have injuries 2 more important people then leonard or whatever, this was our shot!! kill me right now!!
Sanchez is just wrapping up his 2nd year. The parts of the team that matter are young. Don't jump, the window's gonna be open for awhile.
