Yup. Sanchez will be a better QB next year than this year. The Brad Smith package is useless and a KR is not worth a big contract.

As hacky as it is to say the NFL really is a "big play" league. How many times did we see the Jets defense stop guys cold on 1st and 2nd down only to give up 3rd down conversion after 3rd down conversion. Holmes and Edwards(along with Sanchez) are what moved the Jets offense all season long, no matter how many times the Jets want to say ground and pound. The Jets really have no playmakers on the defensive side of the ball aside from Revis who can be avoided. Hopefully the Jets FO realizes this and doesn't give Harris big money when they desperately need players that can pressure the QB and turn some of the Jets excellent secondary work into turnovers.
Really you werent impressed by him on the bench ? It was a learning year for him, hes not used to covering slot recievers so ended up on the bench most of the season since we have Cromartie

Criticizing him for not making an INT on a bullet to his face is not a fair comment in the slightest. Say you haven't seen enough of him to be a #2 because he struggled as a nickel and got demoted to a dime early in the season. That's fine. The dropped INT this game was a rookie making a big stop on third down against a seasoned QB. You want to say he didn't show you enough? You have every right. But don't bring bullshit like this to the table and expect to not be called on it.
Cromartie's a goner. With all those players hitting free agency, there is no way the Jets tag the guy or hand him a new, lucrative deal. Not with a still highly thought of first round pick (Wilson) and a serviceable fill-in (Lowery) under contract.
Franchise cost is difficult to ascertain for next season because of the way new contracts were structured this year. I'd assume it's pretty stable and rises slightly above $10 million for a linebacker. I don't think it's worthwhile to tag Harris unless there are significant changes made to the tag system. We're in a tough spot with him. Honestly, if we're looking to throw money at a linebacker, I'd rather go after Lamarr Woodley, although I'm still expecting the Steelers to resign him after the Super Bowl. I do hate that we likely won't have a true free agency period before the draft, but at the same time it may help us resign some of our own FAs at a discount.
