Or hit him with an ax? I mean, let's relax a little. He's one of the most sacked QBs in the league. He goes down. It just doesn't go on the highlight reels.
He's one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the league because his line blows. Dudes pretty good at avoiding sacks anyone see him stiff arm terrell suggs in the regular season? Show me another QB who can do that. That being said he holds on to the ball too damn long we should be able to catch him a couple times
No. To be ruled down as "in the grasp" a QB has to be wrapped up by a defender with another defender bearing down on him with an unobstructed path. Pittsburgh delenda est.
Wait a sec....so Sean Ellis chases Ben 15 yards away from the LOS.....everybody else on both sides is up near the LOS....Ellis wraps up Ben and has both arms around him but he's still standing even though he can't move his arms or feet....the play isn't dead ??
This is in fact a very good point. If I have to add: If approaching from front: grab the arm, and strip the ball. He will know a rusher is coming at him, so he will try to protect the ball. If coming from behind (especially if Ben is cocked, ready to throw) tomahawk the throwing arm. Immediate fumble (a la Lawrence Taylor)
If he starts moving backwards in that scenario then yes, it's dead due to stopping forward progress. The in the grasp rule is a different situation. Pittsburgh delenda est.
He is as big as a tree and looks like there are extra rib guards to prevent anyone from wrapping him up too easily, is it illegal for the defensive players to line the sleeves of their underarmour with velcro hooks? Just asking
Ben gets off on being sacked. Break his nose, he'll go to the sideline, have it set, come back out on the field and throw a 58 yd bomb on the first snap of his return.
