I am a collector of NFL game videos and want to know if anyone has vhs or dvd versions of any of the games listed below. If so, please contact me at kansascitychiefs@sbcglobal.net and we can discuss trade and details. Thanks, Jay 1/2/83 Jets 13 @ Chiefs 37 10/7/84 Jets 17 @ Chiefs 16 10/21/84 Chiefs 7 @ Jets 28 12/4/88 Jets 34 @ Chiefs 38
Hi Chief - you may be out of luck here. Most collectors seem to have the same games, that just get copied and copied until everyone has one. I haven't seen any of these games mentioned by any of the collectors I've dealt with, but keep trying! I know it's no consolation at all, but I was at the 34-38 game in 1988. It broke my heart when the Chiefs scored at the end, but the Jets' 'Keystone Kops' style kick return afterwards was amazing.
The Chiefs kept us out of the playoffs that year. We finished 8-7-1 and went 0-1-1 against a 4 win KC team. If we could have taken care of business against them we would have made it. The only positive of the OT tie in NY was that Al Toon kept his consecutive game streak w/ a at least 1 rec intact. he didn't have a catch in regulation but had at leat 1 or 2 in OT. I don't have any of those. I have a bunch of 80s games but none of the KC games.
The Jets should of won both games and it definately cost them the playoffs. A Freeman McNeil fumble deep in KC territory late in OT cost the Jets the W in NY and the game in KC ended with the Jets attempting a wild kickoff return in which they must of lateraled the ball about a dozen different times. They managed to get the ball to about midfield until somebody tossed the ball out of bounds. The play actually was shown on the TODAY show the next morning with Bryant Gumble calling it a 'typically designed Joe Walton play'.......
