Ellis is through and through green & white. I know he is getting older and this might be his last season. I am so proud that he has been a part of this. By and far one of my all time favorite Jets. I think he makes a strong bid for ring of honor.

Tonight he may have played his best game ever. He was all around the ball. He played with passion and with purpose. His performance tonight will be remembered as legendary. 92

Ellis deserves 1-2 more years, depending on money. Right now I favor Edwards over Holmes but I'd love to see both of them come back.

Their season-long performances merit as much, in my opinion; no two ways about it. Edwards REALLY stepped up his "hand quality" and reliability, esp. during the second half of this season. I see Ellis continuing to make big plays on the field and bolstering his teammates' play, esp. as a veteran-mentor. (I'd prefer to see Jason Taylor on his way out to make Ellis' return as a Jet more likely.) So, I hope they're both Jets come the next season. (But T. Jones, Faneca, and Feely's releases [I was against all three of their releases] come to mind, so nothing's for certain.)

Can the Jets afford to roll the dice on Edwards (esp. relative to retaining Holmes), given his uncertain legal situation??

if there's no contract next year, which players on the current roster would cross the line and play? ellis? hell yeah. Braylon? probably. Sanchez? hell yeah. Holmes? ummmmm....not sure.

Ellis needs to retire as a Jet. I would love to see this guy win a Superbowl ring.

it really depends on teh new cba for football. if they go thru like last year they may be willing to let someone walk like they did last year (Feely) to sign someone to put a pass rush one depending on what is available

Braylon played a great game, as did Ellis. Both of these guys had career games but I'm not sure if Ellis bought his way back on the roster just yet. I'd love to bring him back for veteran support but if Trever Price gets resigned then Ellis might not have a place on the roster. Price has been in Rex's system longer and despite Ellis' tenure on the Jets and his (deserved)popularity with the fans, Price would make slightly more sense to teach the young DLine we (hopefully)bring in.

    Pittsburgh delenda est.
