It had nothing to do with the SOJ's and everything to do with the fact we were playing a 14-2 Pats team with Brady having 36 TD's to 4 INT's. They were scoring 40 a week every week, not just the stupid game against us. I thought we'd be doing well to hold them to 20 so losing a TD early when you get the ball on the 12 was huge, and the kind of mistake that usually costs you when you're playing a great team.
I honestly believed we could win....but believed it would have be a faultless showing in which we took every chance - like when Eli led NYG to the Superbowl in 2008. When we then squandered that massive chance, I thought we'd end up regretting the failure to score
Unfortunately, sscoring in the 1st quarter is almost impossible. The good news is that Mark warmed up a lot quicker this week. If he keeps progressing like this, we will be in great shape for the Super Bowl!! Make sure the D keeps it close until Mark gets cranked up.
When they missed the kick, I threw my wife out of the room who was reading the paper and told her she was "bad luck". I'm still in the doghouse.
After 27 years I get nervous after everything. The only games I was relaxed were the two buffalo games.
My missus really wanted to watch the game but wouldn't come in to the room for the first quarter due to the shouting and swearing.
I broke my chair.... When we missed the FG I threw it on the floor repeatedly...it's an office chair that weighs. I was LIVID @ the play calling there and how ridiculous we looked.
I have to admit i was worried. We went backwards on 2 plays then missed the FG. But it was the ease the pats were moving the ball with that worried me. That interception seemed to change a lot.
They went right down the field the next time too, but Crumpler dropped the TD pass and from the time we held them to a FG our D settled in nicely.
