Toon and Walker complimented each other well. One tall, lanky and able to be the posession reciever the other fast, nimble and a big play threat.

Those 2 were lots of fun to watch.

Looking up stats is the only thing I could do...
I'm too green to personally add to the discussion.

But why let that stop me

I think Edwards-Holmes need more than a year to be a tandem on the level of the others. Although, I would not be willing to argue about the potential.

    False

Here, all the years Toon & Walker were together:
    725 + 662 = 1387
    1176 + 1016 = 2192
    976 + 190 = 1166
    1067 + 551 = 1618
    693 + 89 = 782

    Now Cherbet & Keyshawn
    844 + 909 = 1753
    963 + 799 = 1762
    1131 + 1083 = 2214
    631 + 1170 = 1801

Now, not only does C&J's best season beat T&W, but every other season for C&J beats every other season of T&W. It's not even close.

I just turned 20 on the 3rd of Jan, so growing up my favorite player was always Chrebet, so I have to go with Wayne's world and KeyShawn. BUT since I was young my father has always talked about TOOON and Walker, I just wish I was born a little earlier to see them play..

I'll have to say Chrebet and Johnson. I know who Toon and Walker are but I was too young to see them play. I have seen clips of them and yea they were beasts.

Has to be Toooooooon & Walker.

Toon literally laid his career on the field for the Jets. So many big hits he took as a possession receiver (which is why I've always been pissed @ Ken O' Brien for constantly leading Toon into defenders). Toon isn't a HOF WR but considering how many big hits he took & still held onto the ball, he'll always be my favorite receiver for all the heart he showed. If only the concussion rules this season existed back then. Toon would've been able to take some games off to recover from all those big hits & definitely would've had a longer career.

Walker was a badass deep threat but I'm only including him because he's paired up w/ Toon.

Toon/Walker combo made some really exciting Dolphin/Jets games. Even when the Jets & Dolphins weren't contenders, their games were exciting enough to draw national attention.

I really think if Curtis Conway didn't get hurt and stuck around in 2004 to team with Justin McCareins it would've been deadly...For our offense.

    Anyway...Chrebet/Keyshawn.

Maynard + Sauer + Bake Turner + Pete Lammons

You've probably never heard of Turner, since by the time the Jets got really good he didn't play much, but from 1963-1965 he had 160 receptions (in 14 game seasons) averaging 14.9 yards per catch, with 17 TDs. From 1966-1968 Maynard, Sauer, and Lammons combined for season averages of 166 receptions for 2485 yards (15.0 yards per catch), with 16 TDs per season.

Trivia: all four went to college in Texas.

Turner was the first Jet to eclipse the 200-yard receiving mark in a game.

11/10/63 vs the Oilers, 210 yards

He was the first Jets receiver to get 1000 yards in a season.

(Trick answer: Art Powell and Don Maynard each did it twice earlier, but they were the Titans then.)
