You do know, Tom Brady is pretty much undefeated in snow games right?

If you need to be "Green lighted" to get away with your friends, you're in the wrong marriage.

I'm still not exactly sure why the team was so unbelievably awful in that game.

Yes, but Green Bay also gave Belichick their blueprint and I'm sure there have been some fixes for what the Pack was doing...

Not quite as badly, but NE also really crushed Pittsburgh (Pitt caught up a bit in garbage time) and Chicago in the ensuing weeks. Those 3 games were really what got the media on NE's jock.

Green Bay didn't use a blueprint the Jets can really use. The Packers went with a lot of 3 and 4 wr, spread type formations, the Pats went to sub packages, and then the Jets ran out of those formations. I don't see the Jets running the same kind of plays.

I was talking time of possession more than anything.

    It was a 40-20 difference.

Well yes, if you dominate time of possession you probably win. The question is how do you do get there.

Run the ball for first downs or at the very least to get it to 3rd and short then chuck it to Braylon on short passes where he uses his size to convert 1st downs. Score TDs in the red zone. Then on defense, get after the QB to make him dump it off. Difficult formula

Shonn Greene is a good place to start. He likes the Pats defense.

The Jets can go spread with a lead. That'll be the most difficult task.

I do wonder about the coin toss. Do you take the ball and get points, or do you want to set the tone against Brady and stop him? If you don't stop him, you're already behind and that's when the offense will begin to press.

I think the Jets should take the ball if they win the toss. If you don't score, you can at least put Brady at the 20 or less. Weatherford has been amazing this year.

Its going to be about field position and never being behind by more than a TD, because that's when the Pats defense puts the offense into situations that create turnovers. That's how this young defense has been doing so well, they can play with an early lead and relax.

Having these kids uncomfortable will be huge, and its something to take advantage of.

None of this is easy, but its not improbable. Its about getting the job done, and staying mentally tough.

the one key thing that the Jets are missing is Raji. Dude is a beast and was consisently beating the Pats line in double coverage. GB was getting pressure by rushing 3 and 4 guys. The Jets do not have anyone on their Dline who can do this.

We play in NY. They play in NE. This is football and these are grown men. If the "cold" is a reason why you lost I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be in this league, and Rex would be the first to tell you that.

If we go by this, then the Jets did absolutely no type of preparation for that game. They didn't watch any film of the previous games where NE was running that same offense.

Or was it that they NE broke out an all new offense for the Jets game?

    LMAO!

We got our asses kicked because we do not match up well with that offense. Simple as that.

Maybe we won't get blown out again, but we will struggle to stop the Pats offense, when they are on the field. Which is why I think we need to chew up as much time off the clock as possible, and keep their asses on the bench, if we are going to win this game

Yeah, I posted that in another thread, but the Pats new look offense diminishes the impact of our corners, and creates situations in which we at best can hope for 4 rushers. We really can't afford to send the house, which means Ryan and Pettine are going to have to do something which has been a problem all season and get pressure out of base players.

This team quit in the second half, period. And Brady running up the score to stick it in our asses is something we shouldn't forget. I'm fucking sick of Brady and his team. If we don't win this game, we'll never beat Brady. We might have to wait until this douche retires before we own this division.

The problem wasn't the difficulty of the defensive game plan, it was the fact that Rex had to hand it to Smith a day and a half before the game. As others have said, the momentum shifted early. I think the D redeems itself Sunday. They have had the time and the motivation to get things right.

The first TD will be huge in this game. The Jets need to know they can hang with the Pats, and the Pats have a ton of rookies who will likely have the Playoff shakes. If the Jets punch them in the mouth and get an early score it might just panic the youngsters. It sure as heck will get the Jets going, especially if LT scores. Likewise, an early score by the Pats could get in the Jets head.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling this game will be decided by an injury. I am not wishing it on anyone, but I have a feeling someone goes down and it shifts the tide. Otherwise, it will be close.

Really that entire soft defense the Jets used against the Colts was predicated on stopping the run. If the Jets can stop the run, they will not be giving up 45 points.

They dared Peyton to run with some of the wacky formations Rex was using. It really was brilliant defensive play calling.

The thing that worries me is, the Pats O-line is better than the Colts in run blocking. I am not so sure the Jets can get away with 6-7 db's on the field at a clip.

Should be interesting as I think this game is going to be a hell of a lot closer. I have to be honest, I am not sure I see the Jets closing a 40 point gap.

Brady is playing on a different level than Manning. Sanchez needs a couple of those 17 play 9 minute drives. They get 2 of those and the Jets can definitely win it. Is Sanchez going to be good enough to do it?

    Exactly.
The big question is will Rex adjust and come up with something else? You know Belicheat was watching our game last saturday over and over. So if our coaching staff doesn't mix it up and get creative then its another loss for us.
