saturday happens to be my grandpas 90th birthday and I would have killed myself if I had to miss the game. there is a god
Not that it matters, but this is on CBS, right? NFL.com currently has both this game and PIT-BAL listed as being NBC games.
Yep, my Gma's 80th bday was today and there would've been no way out of the day long celebration...thank god the game was last night.
I'll be on a flight to Toronto during the game next week.....I guess I better purchase the airline headphones to watch the game on the plane.
How ironic. I was just discussing with my friends this issue of too many jets fans having really old relatives with inconveniently timed birthdays.
My family knows how crazed I get, so cake for my mother's b-day was done at halftime at my sister's house, while the rest of the night was most of family getting a kick out watching me (and my mother-in-law) yell (semi) obscenities at the tv screen, while drinking some Goose Island. I kept the word fuck to a as much of a minimum as possible, Next weekend is my b-day. (Enter Green Hornet joke here_______) So Sunday at 4:30 is perfect. I love you MLK....3 day weekend.
Yeah, I'm glad we're playing on Sunday as well, for the simple fact, we'll have an extra day to rest/prepare for the Patriots.
One of the best beer brewing companies in the country. Out of Chicago. I highly recommend it. I had a four-pack of the Sofie (14 bucks, not cheap), and I also picked up a 6-pack of the extra dry Asahi, good Japanese beer. I wasn't drinking too much (for me, at least), so I wanted good shit. The wife is due in the next 4-5 weeks, so when the shit hits the fan, I don't want to be a stumbling drunk. Should have added, halftime cake time just wasn't the same after the Sanchez INT. I just couldn't wait until the 2nd half started.
NBC each year only gets two Saturday wild card games. The other two wild card games, the divisional games, and the conference championships are on that conference's network (CBS for the AFC, FOX for the NFC).
I almost got fired from my job in 1986 for calling in sick to watch the Pats-Dolphins AFC Championship game. Somehow, my boss figured out I wasn't really sick. hmy: I kinda wish I had had to work on Superbowl Sunday that year though....
No, but I had been bribing co-workers to work my shift all week. If we had gotten even a little snow that day, that was gonna be my excuse!
