Thinkin about it Brick has had a 2010 season for a left tackle on par with Revis 2009 season for a corner.Shut out the likes of Jared Allen,James Harrison,Julius Peppers, and Dwight Freeney. Those are just the big names in a whole line of pass rushers he held in check this year.Rarely did he ever let up a sack.If he isnt considered the best left tackle in the game I dont know who is.
Wholeheartedly agree. The argument I often hear is that Jake Long is better. Pro bowl voting confirms that thinking. Brick is deserving to be an all-pro this year given who he's gone up against and held in check.
Revis's 2009 season was perhaps the best season ever for a CB. Are you really suggesting Brick was on par with that? Great season, no doubt, but best ever for a LT?
He has been great but he isn't even close to some of the season's Pace, Boselli (in his few prime years) and Munoz have had. I think they had years where they barely allowed a pressure all season.
Brick has been great this season but his 2010 is not going to compare to Revis' season last year. Revis may be the best corner in the history of the NFL, Brick is nowhere near the best LT in the game. Solid and someone you can trust to one-on-one top pass-rushers, but not the best. New England delenda est.
Maybe it was a little strong to compare his seasons to Revis of last year, perhaps it hasnt been the best season a LT has ever had but it has been a damn good one.He Just keeps getting better each year it seems.
I just wish he was more effective at downfield blocking. He's one of the more athletic O-lineman out there and it seems that in situations where he can crush a safety on a downfield block he just kind of whiffs. But then again, this is nitpicking, he has been a monster all year long.
Not a bad comparison, really. He did erase several top passrushers this season (Revis gained fame for shutting down several top WRs), the guy is a beast and I'm extremely happy he signed an extension.
Right now, the only guys I can think of to put ahead of him that I've seen him play are: Orland Pace Jonathan Ogden For current players, he's getting some competition from: Jake Long Joe Thomas Brick isn't challenging the best in the history like Revis is and he's not far and above every one of his contemporaries like Revis is. Brick is a great tackle but he's not what Revis is to the CB position. New England delenda est.
I think he's a much better pass blocker than he is a run blocker. That's why we run to the right all the time. Brick is being paid to pass protect, but if he ever improved his run blocking, he'd be a monster.
