Does anybody know where you go to on ESPN1050 to listen to the radio calls from last nights game against the Colts? I'm trying to find it.
I tell ya....Bob Wischushen (sp?) has really grown on me from his first year calling the games on the radio. His calls last night were perfect. Very excited, of course, but a controlled excitement. I can't stand it when some of these professional announcers on the radio are yelling "YES!" or "Go, Go, Go" over and over....it's very unprofessional and almost college like. We have a very good radio team.
Wischusen is one of the top in the business. There's a reason he gets so much work outside of his Jets job. I can't wait to hear last night's calls from the game-winning drive.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/radio/archive?id=5023649 they have some postgame stuff up but no the radio highlights... i would check back later because they normally have the postgame recap up there
I remember when Bob was starting down here in south fla I heard he went to NYC I still hear him from time to time.

I usually put the TV on mute, and turn on the radio with Bob and Marty Lyons. That way I can feel free to move about the house, and not miss anything. I wish the Jets would listen to Bob and Marty during games, because their analysis always seems to make a lot of sense. Bob always points out the right clock management moves just before Rex manages to screw them up, and Marty is always great at pointing out how a back should have followed a block, or how a DB should have wrapped up a receiver on a tackle. Good stuff.
Totally agree. I have the NFL Mobile app which allows me to listen to any game. The amount of times I heard announcers talking over each other, screaming and cheering was incredible. There were even times where you hear an announcer say "NO, YOU CAN'T MAKE THAT CALL AT THIS TIME" in reference to a ref....I was like man this is garbage. Bob Wischusen is absolutely great @ what he does.
For a good laugh people should watch the Vinatieri kick with the Colts radio announcers, they go nuts when he makes it. It's at NFL.com in the videos section.
Nothing compared to the Eagles guys. I was listening to the Philly/Chicago game on the ride back to school from Thanksgiving break, and it was worse than if you just picked up two drunk Eagles fans from a bar and gave them a mic. Merle (I think) the PBP guy was just blatantly rooting for the Eagles--calling the refs stupid whenever they threw a flag against Philly, and the color guy wasn't any better. It was sickening.
^^^^^ His name is Merrill Reese and he's actually not a bad announcer. He's been their announcer since before I was born. His call on Randall Cunningham's 95 yard TD out of the end zone in Buffalo in '90 (I think) is one of my favorite ever. I just hate it when the announcers go "homer" on their audience. The Islanders used to have a play-by-play announcer on their radio station named John Weidemann, and I could not stand him. He'd pop a blood vessel every time the Isles score, and he'd barely whisper when the other team scored. It was very annoying during the '02 playoffs vs. Toronto because it was such an epic series and this guy (I was working until 10 p.m. at the time) was totally homering it up. I feel an announcer is insulting intelligent fans when this is done. If it's an important, game changing play, then fucking call it like one. I understand you get a little emotionally attached as a guy who travels with the team a majority of the time, but you have a responsibility to your audience.
As a jet fan I am very proud of the radio team. Wischusen is fantastic and I love the way Lyons breaks down what's happening in the trenches. One of the best tandems in the NFL.
