what do you guys think about them in the near future i have to admit, i am a slight browns fan but they have alot of youth and talent on that team between braylon, winslow jr, droughns and charlie frye i just wanted to get the opinion of some other people as to how you think they will do in the future (next season is not going to be too good because of braylons injury) and hey....at least i didnt post this in the New York Jets section!
Hmmm... They have a ton of potential and a bunch of players coming off injuries. If young guys like Charlie Frye on offense and Andra Davis, Kamerion Wimbley and D'Qwell Jackson on defense can play and the injured guys like Kellen Winslow, Braylon Edwards and Sean Jones can heal then they could be a solid team. I think right now there are a lot of ifs that could potentially sink them though. Right now I put them slightly above the Ravens in the NFC North, so at ebst I think they could put together an 8-8 season. However, they have great leadership with Crennel and Savage so the future surely looks bright. They could have a Bengal-esque resurgence with the Steelers sliding back in the next couple of years. Right now their receiving corps is young, weak and injured, with a first time starter throwing passes and a career journeyman carrying the ball. Their defense is young and growing with a lot of key players in place. I don't think the D is good enough to carry the O so it could also be a rough year, but like I said above, the future does look bright.
Don't forget they acquired Jerkmeviciously. I like the Browns chances less after Ben Roethlisberger didn't get injured too bad and Steve McNair signed with Baltimore. The Browns will improve in 2006 but it probably will not show in the standings.
Their defense should be solid in 2 years under Romeo Crennel. They definetly got some nice defensive players in the draft who will only do well
It is always nice to root for someone to win once the Jets wash-out. At least it helps make the season a bit more interesting. I have teams I like beyond the Jets, but I wouldn't call myself a fan of them.
i'd hate to see what NYJATW is then, hes a fan of numerous teams, OH MY GOODNESS, the thread is starting to be about him, AH!!!!!
They have drafted well the last two years and with another draft they will be ready to compete with the better teams in the NFL. Great job in signing Lecharles Bently which is one of the FA aquistions that is overlooked.
Yeah the good thing about the Browns is they aren't terrible, they are injured. Most of the reason they have had early draft picks is because their top picks have gotten injured. Kellen Winslow and Sean Jones, picked 1 and 2 two years ago and I think they played a combined 2 games their rookie years. Last year Winslow and Braylon Edwards got beat up. If they ever stay healthy for 16 games they could have a dynamic team.
Supposedly Charlie Frye and Kellen Winslow have been working out together all offseason and now Winslow refers to Frye as his best friend and credits him with changing his additude. We'll see if he's just talking out of his ass but it's encouraging for Browns fans to hear. Romeo Crennel is an awesome coach (if we had known that Herm's tenure as coach would end so abruptly I wish that we could've canned him before last season and hired Crennel or Weis. Oh well) and he got their defense making strides last season. He's brought in more of his own personnel and that's gonna help as well. I'm predicting an 8-8 season for them if they have no major changes on their roster (like a Winslow injury for example.)
I actually don't think he likes football all too much to begin with. He's just some deranged kid that likes to hang out on a jets messageboard.
you took the thoughts right outta my head, anyways, i think we scared him off from that one thread cuz i havent heard from him since....
