I know, I know... you always want to play against the best... but I'm not gonna bitch (can I say it in a thread, mods ?) about it if RT Ryan Diem isn't ready to go and we have to face an undrafted rookie at RT. We have to bring as much pressure as we can on P. Manning. Colts RT Ryan Diem (back) is in doubt for Saturday's game against the Jets. Diem did not miss a single snap during the regular season, so this is uncharted waters for the Colts. If Diem can't go, coach Jim Caldwell said undrafted rookie Jeff Linkenbach will start. It's an area of concern for the Colts. Per Rotoworld taken from some Indianapolis newspaper...
Like I said, you better believe the overloads will come form that side and Jason Taylor will be there too.
Diem is an annual starter but is known to have playoff meltdowns; blown assignments and false starts. Linkenbach has played multiple positions this season including stepping in at left tackle a couple weeks ago. We actually ran the ball better after Charlie Johnson was replaced by Linkenbach. Probably coincidence, but he has a little experience. With all that being said you want your starters in there...
Injuries only matter when it's the other team. Nobody throws back wins against the the Jets because key players are out. I never complain about injuries or bad calls. During the course of a season they even out, so I don't care if the Colts have 53 guys on I.R.. The game is tonight and whoever shows up is who plays...
a mild plus, but probably will not effect Manning too much. It's not like that OL is full of probowlers - Manning is just quick making decisions
I think Jason Taylor is really determined right now. He wants that Super Bowl ring very badly and I expect him to play the hardest he ever has over the playoffs.
I believe he thought Soxx was implying that Taylor didnt give 100 percent during the regular season, which of course isn't true.
So if we lose this game it wouldn't set the franchise back at all but it would be an udda disasta from the standpoint that we're a relatively healthy team and the Colts are beyond banged up. They're still a good team but we should win this game
If Ryan Diem is able to go today at right tackle, that makes the game a little bit different. If he’s out, the Colts will miss their best run blocker, and the chances of them running for 75+ yards diminish. When the Colts run for 75 yards, they are 9-0. When they don’t, they are 1-6.
Just because Diem is out doesn't mean we should blitz the house and get burned for 400 yards by Manning again. Thank god some of you aren't coaching.
How do you like living in the land of incoherency? Not a sigle post in this thread suggested blitzing at all. :drunk: early?
No you don't. I hate that f*ng response. We were...WINNING last year, until two things happened. Shonn went down. Strickland went down. When the latter happened Manning mysteriously came alive, and when the former happend we couldn't keep the Offense on the field. Story of the game...'Jets beset by injuries fall late?' No.... Manning the Conqueror demolishes Jets. Colts....F*ck Them.
If Diem can't go thats a positive for the Jets. Hopefully the D can get some pressure and shut down the run.
