I'm so sick of hearing about the Colts run defense. The last few games, yes they've been better. But you don't get ranked 25th against the run for playing well. If you just want to count the last few games we then have one of the best offenses in the league heading into the playoffs. Putting up 34 on Chicago and 22 on Pittsburgh. Doubled the run total allowed by Pittsburgh and just dominated the Beats on offense. Than our backups steamrolled the Bills so our offense is number 1, right Colts fan??
My question was, "Who is your 1000 yard rusher?" Could you please answer that? I just looked at the last 5 games the Jets played and your vaunted rush offense doesn't look good... Your team ran for 111 against the Patriots and your pass offense was putrid. Your defense was deplorable as well... Playing the dolphins and Bills padded your defensive stats this year. I understand you play the schedule you are dealt, but your team doesn't stop the pass against passing teams and your team haven't ran well in the last 5 weeks. What area is your over bravado coach going to address?
So you're going to base your entire argument on one game against the Pats? Let me take the Colts' worst game this season and draw some conclusions myself. Against the Pats Peyton threw 4 INT, so he obviously sucks. Your defense gave up 36 points, so they're terrible as well.
Why are you ingnoring my posts about the Pitt and Chicago defense? They are 1 & 2 ranked run defense. Both games we put over a hundred yards.
Give me a good reason why that is relevant and I'll think about answering it. When you're getting blown out you don't run the ball too much. I don't know if you've noticed but every team in the league is getting trounced by the Patriots. The Steelers, the Bears, the Jets, everyone. The Jets struggled in pass defense at times this year, that's about the only smart thing you've said so far. We've mostly been beat by teams who can attack with there 3rd/4th/5th options though. How dangerous are the Colts practice squad players currently filling those roles? I don't know. We've been running the ball just fine, and even if we do struggle running against the colts, which I doubt, we should be able to pass on your broken down secondary.
I wouldn't agree with number one offense over the past 4-5 games... Several teams have done better... Not to mention the Chargers, saints, Packers, Colts, Patriots... Your rush yards declined the last 5 games and the highest score which you had in Chicago... your team lost... that doesn't bode well for your defense. Not to mention what the Patriots did to you as well. I think many Jet fans should take of the green colored glasses. Your team record is better this year and teams are looking at the Jets as a better team, but there is too much inconsistency in QB play, offense and defense. The Colts generally are good against the pass and bad against the run until we enter the playoffs. I think this game comes down to the Jets pass rush and ability to run the ball over the Colts...Shonn Green needs to start this game and run the ball down our throats. LT will play into our hands...
I am sorry for your lack of reading comprehension. When I stated the last 5 games... and against the Pats, Peyton threw how man picks? ... and we still had the opportunity to win the game? I would think that's a good team. What I am reading from you, if the Colts limit turnovers, we should beat the Jets...
You were basing your entire criticism of the Jets on that one horrific loss, so I did the same thing with your Colts.
We were the only the team to go over 100 yards on the ground against Pittsburgh this year and we ran for 124 yards against Chicago the following week. Those are the #1 and #2 run defenses in the NFL, respectively. Your argument is bunk. And where did you get that 111 number? The Jets ran for 152 yards at 4.9 YPC in the second matchup against New England.
Here is something to think about. http://www.ganggreennation.com/2011/1/3/1912217/perception-is-a-funny-thing
LOLOL! 9 of those points were special teams and a safety. Offensive points were 13, 1 TD and 2 FGs and the Jets STILL could have lost the game if not for a perfectly thrown dropped pass by Spaeth. Jets an offensive juggernaut compared to the Colts...hardly.
I am not ignoring your statements. Your team can run the ball at times, the problem is your team is not a ground and pound team. You have to pass the ball and your qb is not consistent enough to take over a game against better teams. If the Jets fall behind by 7 points to the Colts, I think that may be too much pressure on Sanchez.
Greene 64 yards and Tomlinson 47 yards that equals 111; I didn't look at anything else. My bad for overlooking that. I guess I discount that game being Sanchez threw 3 int's and Rex was calling running plays because the game was over. I think that game was an anomally and it won't happen again this year to the Jets
Just pointing out to someone who made it sound as if putting up 22 on the Steelers was a major feat when 9 of them weren't offensive.
I am not one of those that sees a team do something great one week and think everything is okay now. Sure the Colts are ranked 25th against the run, because of their performances for most of the year. When I see the same result three weeks in a row, then I see a trend and some hope. Actually, the main reason is they are playing better. Why are they playing better? First Bracket is back and 100% healthy. He missed 3 or 4 weeks and was still limping when he first came back. He has been all ovewr the field the last three weeks. Second, the two rookie linebackers (Angerer & Connor) are finally playing without having to think too much. They are much more comfortable in the system now. Third, Muir, Moala & Johnson have stepped it up against the run. The good news is LB Clint Session should be back this week after missing 8 weeks with a dislocated elbow. He's the best runner stopper and hardest hitter of the starting LB's.
