Interesting. Didn't see that coming. Also LT gets Dennis Byrd award for most insprational, Courage award Shaun Ellis
I didn't see it coming, either, but not because Harris wasn't worthy or anything. I didn't see it coming because, to me, there was not one true standout player on the team. I bet the vote was a close one between several players.
That makes more sense to me. With no clear standout, Richardson is as good a choice as any. He is obviously a big leader and well respected guy and is a solid performer at fullback even at an advanced age. I think Harris, Brad Smith, Mark Sanchez (unless he is outright terrible, he'll always get some votes so long as he is the regular starter for most of the season), Santonio Holmes, Brandon Moore, Nick Mangold, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Darrelle Revis may have received votes.

holmes really deserves this. i think hes done more for us than any other individual. other than holmes its prob weatherford. no one player has really stood out except for those two.
Holmes had too many drops in too short of a period of time. I would be hesitant about giving the MVP nod to a player who wasn't with the team for the first four games. Harris has been one of the few bright spots on this defence. I have no problem with him winning it.
I love that picture. He looks so effing scary. I always imagine him saying something like Yea, I killed your dog you got a problem wit that.
I dont know. He missed 4 games. The team was 3 and 1 without him and the offense was roling. He came up huge at the end of some games in the middle stretch of our season but he also played a major part in the losses to Miami and Chicago. There really isn't a clear standout. I like Harris, he plays hard every week and he went about his business quietly this year without a contract so good for him. May also have been a way for his teammates to say to the Jets get this guy signed.
I wonder if this is a message from the players to the front office that Harris should be resigned? I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve it because he is one of the bright spots on this defense and also my favorite Jets player but I'm curious as to how much of the decision was influenced by the players standing by one of their guys and hoping to help keep him in New York and get him the fat contract he deserves.
honestly, this is a joke! no wonder our d hasnt been that good this season. for two years i've supported harris, but no more, not untill he makes some damn IMPACT PLAYS. not one key int, not one key ff, not one key sack, nothing. theres no way in hell do I give harris superstar $ in the off season. maybe tannenbaum knew what he was doing after all.
He had a pro bowl season last year. The whole defense had looked less talented this year. His teammates selected him as the team MVP. They know more than we do. This isn't just for play on the field. This is for everything he does for the team.
