that's reassuring......let's just hope he avoids risking any further injury on Sunday. We need him for the playoffs.
Hope we get a big lead and can sit him early. But this Bear's D is bigtime so that's probably just a pipe dream
I believe Rex is finally learning to play the NFL coach game, put some doubt in the other teams mind, make them pull out the Burnell tape. Just like last week when he said he thought about pulling Sanchez, bull, that was just sending a signal to Sanchez. Its what great coaches do, play games. He's learning all the time
I agree, I like that Rex is pretty straight up most of the time, but a little deception every now and then keeps the bastards guessing.
even negative nancy Rich Cimini was sure that Sanchez would start, and that the injury isn't serious.
Well, that's good news. On a side note, one of my least favorite lines in sports medicine is "we don't think it's an injury that could get worse by playing on it." I believe that was a defense of Revis' sore hammy pre-Patriots pt. 1. All injuries can get worse.
How is Brunell not a serviceable backup? Let's spend 7 mil on McNabb to backup Sanchez next season, yeah! Come on..
He hasn't played in a down where its mattered in quite some time. A serviceable backup is Kitna, Collins, Batch, Rosenfels, etc. They don't grow on trees. Shit, I'd take David Carr as a backup.
Kitna hadn't taken a quality snap in years either. And, Rosenfels hasn't done anything since Houston. I'll give you Batch. Collins is basically the 1A in Tennessee. Why would you take Carr over Brunell? He can't even get a start over Troy Smith in SF. Give the dude a chance. Look what happened with Kitna this year. BTW- Your list doesn't include "serviceable" backups, those are exceptional backups.
I don't understand why the Jets didn't upgrade their backup QB this offseason. And ND, while good backups don't grow on trees, they usually can be had for scraps. Kitna landed in Dallas in exchange for A. Henry and Hill was acquired for a 7th.
