he's definitley worth the risk with our 3rd rounder...our first 2nd? maybe...but i am def leaning toward yes from what a lot of you guys have said....to be honest i haven't seen him play all that much, but i do know that he is very very talented and can be a nice fit for us at olb in the 3-4

I know nothing about Brooks, but this would be the perfect move after having a fairly boy scout like draft.

Wait a second, what exactly did Abraham not "get" or "do"

One of the few (especially last year) impact Defensive players the past few years. Just because he's not on the JETS anymore doesn't mean he sucks

hes back down to 260, i dunno about his reps but Mangold only put up like 20. i remember Cutler put up more reps than Mangold so yea............i wouldnt let that deter me from picking him.

havent seen him on the field in some time, but everytime he was healthy he was a damn psycho on the field. all over the place smashing people. hes definitely worth the risk. and he knows the 3-4 from playing for Groh.

I would rather keep the 2 2nd rd picks. It gives us plenty of flexibility for the draft next year and just may be able to trade up to get that stud RB that may be available(Peterson I hope)

I went to UVA while Ahmad Brooks was playing. He is a FREAKISH athlete. Here is the video of him making that sack that someone mentioned above...

if his behavior becomes a non issue whoever gets him is damn lucky.

Brooks not in John Abraham's league?

John Abraham is/was a one dimentional football player - he can speed rush the QB. If he is nicked, he can't use his speed, and is a non entity.

Brooks seems to have the same type of pass rush talent, but is a more physical player and has much better tackling skills at a much earlier stage. Abe is a weak tackler.

The more I read, the more I see that the issues he had at UVA were maturity issues. So, the question begs has he grown up in the face of adversity? If he has, that's a good sign. If he hasn't, then he's going to continue to be a problem.

I'll go with Mangini and Groh on this one...
