Mine goes to Braylon Edwards. He made the catches and took huge hits. Hats off to him.

drew coleman was the defensive mvp of this one IMO... also, a great last couple punts from weatherford bailed us out after our offense couldnt get a key first down.... i agree with you though, edwards made a couple great catches and had one of his best games of the year.

Drew Coleman had 2 strip sacks, but he was once again completely lost in coverage.

My game balls would go to Braylon for teaching Pittsburgh how to Dougie, Weatherford for dominating the field position game, and Revis for absolutely locking down whoever he was matched up against.

no one's gonna argue that coleman is great with coverage but the dude played a pretty great game today by his standards and lead the team with 10 tackles. also have to give him a lot of credit for accounting for 2/3 of the team's sacks when it really counted.... drew takes a lot of flak on this board but hes shown this season that he can be very valuable in certain defensive sets.

I agree, he takes a lot of flack, today he was lights out! Stepped his game up big time, this is the time of the year where one or two guys step up, due to injuries and what not, they make the difference between champions and playoff flame outs. Hope Coleman keeps it up.

Gameball goes to Schotty. Couple of bad calls towards the end on third downs when we should have rushed (instead of incompletions) on drives before the safety and after the safety (thats two TOs saved = >75 seconds), but besides that, we moved the ball nicely on the Pitsburgh D and did a hell of a job on keeping Sanchez's confidence at a very high level today. A great turnaround from a week and two weeks ago. We didn't produce tons of points, but we were up against one of the best D in the league.

I believe it was Coleman on that last play aswell. I looked at the replay in slow motion and I believe he tipped the ball just enough for it to become slightly wobbly, hence the drop in the EZ. I think Rex tried to use Coleman as Ihedigbo's replacement to pressure the QB cuz Coleman blitzed several times in the game.

Definitely Braylon Edwards. He made some tough catches and also made one of the greatest catches I've seen in quite awhile when he caught the pass over the middle that somehow didn't get knocked down...

I would give it to the offensive line, they impressed me today. Good running against a great run defense, and Sanchez comes away with a pretty clean jersey. Schotty called the right plays, but none of that works if you don't have time to put them together.

But there is one guy I would love to give an honorary game ball to, without him we would be a .500 team right now at best:

I have to give one to Sanchez. NO turnovers and several avoided sacks. The way he sold the fake hand-off-cum-TD was magic.

I'd also give one to: Smith (for setting the tone RIGHT from the start); Folk (for going 2 for 2 AND to boost his confidence); Weatherford (for SUPER punts and helping us with the field-position battle); Edwards (for CLUTCH hands despite getting hit by a brickwall); and Coleman (for his BIG defensive plays).

Again, not many gave us a chance in this game, but we got the "W." For all those who kept hope alive, a Merry (and early) Christmas.

Everyone here is making excellent points but I would probably give it to Schotty with his bounce back game. He's been taking so much heat the past two weeks (deservingly so) and this was his game to step up or get buried. Good job Schotty you live to call another play.

Splitting 1 for each unit - I'd give 1 to Sanchez. 1 to Weatherford. 1 to Taylor. I agree there are lots of deserving candidates today.
