this how you do me!!!!! You expect me to learn from this??? How???!!! Ill never forget this!! Ever!!! Thx tho...
First and foremost, no QB is going to come close to giving the return on investment than Sam Bradford. I'll go out on a limb now and say that only injuries or a horribly managed(personnel) and coached team could stop him from being a HOF once his career is done. Sanchez could be close but the main problems that Sanchez has that Bradford isn't showing is that Sanchez can get flustered and it tends to lead to him making bad decisions. Bradford is a lot better at blocking out anxiety on the field. As for Sanchez Vs. Rodgers: I'm sure a lot of Jets fans have some small part of their mind wishing that Sanchez had the luxury of spending three seasons of learning what not to do from a prima donna turnover machine right about now.
you hit the nail on the proverbial head. I believe Sanchez has the physical tools....but the mental game is still a work in progress.
luck for bradford he plays in the nfc west in the 52nd largest city and no prime time games easier to relax
For a second year QB, he's got some concerns but nothing I would be concerned over to the point of looking elsewhere. What he needs most right now is for this team to believe in him, an offensive plan that can actually let him get into a rhythm early and someone(hopefully Richardson and Cavanaugh) to get in his ear when he's doing his pout face on the sidelines to motivate him to man up and take control of this team.
A few too many, especially from his TE. Keller has been underperforming and it's not helping him. Not an excuse for poor QB play but Keller hasn't exactly been playing like a first round pick. Cotchery's bad games have also been a letdown for Sanchez. The guy was practically Sanchez's security blanket last season and this year he's been bad or he's been excellent, sometimes alternating between plays. Braylon has been better than what he used to be. The drops with him are a case of buyer beware. He's got the hands but not the concentration and that's something that every team he's on has to be aware of from this point forward in his career. Again, none of this is completely excuses Sanchez for the past couple of games but when this shit starts happening it tends to start spiraling. Unfortunately it had to start right at the beginning of the toughest stretch in the schedule. The whole offense, CS, QB, skill players and OLine need to work hard to pull themselves out of it.
The Rams weren't expected to win any games. As much poise as Sanchez has shown since he's been here (despite people insisting that everybody he's accomplished so far is by accident) at some point you had to figure the pressure was gonna get to him. The kid's looked miserable the last couple weeks. Missing open receivers and when he's not missing open receivers he's making boneheaded decisions. It happens, a lot of QBs hit a wall their second year. I personally think he'll be fine.
Yeah Braylon's been solid this year. The hands haven't been an issue all year (I think he's maybe 1 or 2 drops all year?) and he's made his fair share of big plays. Yesterday tho, and I may be wrong, I think Vontae Davis was all over him all game. Davis is a very good corner, the Fins look like they hit a HR with that one.
The fins made some great choices on that defense. There's really nothing you can say otherwise about anyone on that team(who isn't named Channing Crowder).
In reference to Sam Bradford I think the fact of the matter is that no matter how you look at it we all want the same thing Superbowl Now there are those of the party (like Joe Bedingo) that would settle for 1 superbowl win in the near future, whether its this year or next year, whatever... And then there are those of the party (like myself) that do not just want one superbowl. But a chance to win every year, season in and season out. Not necessarily win each year but look objectively at our team and say "ok, yes this year we were missing a piece here a piece there on offense or defense and we got beat in a playoff game by a better team this year" kind of like how everyone kinda almost felt good when we lost to the colts because we thought "hey this kid sanchez is developing, we get some more weapons, maybe pass the ball better, fix up the secondary a little and boom were right back in the playoff mix fighting for another championship. But now in his second year we are watching Mark not just hit the cliche "second year wall"...he has essentially been far too inconsistent to inspire anyone involved in pro football or anyone who is considered an expert on pro talent etc... to say that this young man is going to be great. When I watch Mark i see far to much inaccuracy and inconsistenty to say "he is close" or "he is getting there, just had a bad game". And here we have Sam Bradford (yes in a bad division) play extraordinarily well in first year, showing great touch and accuracy throwing the ball making great reads and staying poised and calm in the pocket. And i dont think anyone who has watched both QBs can sit there and say right now Mark is better or will ever be better. And the bottom line folks, folks who want championships and contenders year in and year out, The best and most surefire way to have that is a excellent Quaterback. no matter who else you have on your team. The one and only position that makes that much of a difference in your QB. Until the Jets have someone who is not only excellent at playing QB but has a great personality, someone who is a strong leader and holds confidence naturally. Until we have this then we will either be that team that won that one superbowl that one year but fell off soon after that or a team that cant and wont win a championship.
Last time I checked Sanchez wasn't a number 1 overall pick and Bradford was so the comparison is hardly fair.
Not only that he played 2 full years at the college level. Different Quarterbacks adjust at different times. Ryan is only NOW becoming as good as he's supposed to in his third year, even then hes made some costly throws that have almost cost his team. (I.E. San Fran interception.) Bradford's a hit away from not even being a QB. You have to asses Sanchez differently, he only played 1 full college season. He was thrown into the spotlight his first year. And under pressure, performed admirably. 624's point about accomplishing more than Rodgers is true in the sense that Rodgers has yet to win a playoff game, and if you remember he's part of the reason they lost (missing a wide open WR, and the fumble sack.) Give the kid time.
^That's all well and good, but here's the thing - this coach has been telling us that this guy can win a championship THIS YEAR. Why are they telling us this if its not true? If he is a learning 2nd year QB, fine, but don't sell us that we are going to win it all. And if he is NOT ready, why is he starting? Deion Sanders said it perfectly - The Jets are a team built to win now with a QB built to win later. And the added pressure is from the froth that flows constantly from his head coach's mouth.
