Let try to remember that okay? Miami came in here with a better road record than our home record. They are very good on the road, and we knew that this would be a tough game today. It was not outside the realm of possibility that the Dolphins could win. When a team is 5-1 on the road coming into your stadium they do not "suck" regardless of what their record is. Basically the Jets lost by 4 points to a team that is 6-1 on the road... It doesn't seem as horrific when you look at it that way. It's a huge letdown, but it wasn't totally unexpected.
Are you seriously trying to spin this? I don't give a shit. The Jets needed to rebound against a rival after a complete embarrassment last Monday.
I'm not trying to spin it, just stating facts. Miami is very good on the road, everyone knew that, the result of this game wasn't a total shock if you understand that. Also they had their playoff lives hanging by a thread, which was an tremendous motivation.
Yeah, it was. But then what happened to Chicago today? Right now the Pats are steamrolling everyone in their path apparently.
Oh good. We are a shoe-in next 2 weeks. Jets 5-1 on the road. Steelers 4-2 at home. Bears 4-3 at home.
I was just hoping that you would realize these stats you bust out are somewhat meaningless when it comes to actual games and what their outcome is going to be
I wouldn't say that stats are meaningless, I would say there's more to it than the stats but the fact that the Pats are first in scoring has to mean something, and the Dolphins being 6-1 on the road has to mean something too. You can't just disregard these things and say the Jets suck.
For some reason we stand a better chance against them on the road than we do at home. I don't know why that is, it just is.
the result of this game was not unexpected, but not for that reason... its because they havent played well in weeks
Well I think the defense played pretty good today. They recovered 3 fumbles, had 5 sacks, and kept Miami down to 26 minutes in time of possession. The 10 points Miami scored all came in the 1st quarter off offensive gaffs. The offense played bad today, but the defense did it's job, so that's at least something to take away from this heading into Pittsburgh.
Another good thing to come out of this game us thR Miami is now 7-6...........So we have now beaten 2 teams with winning records.
You could say they beat us or you could say we beat ourselves with the cartoon strip offensive gameplan in this game. We had more than one shot at the end but the playcalling was hilariously stupid. What I want to concentrate on here was that the defense blanked Miami for 3 quarters in this game and might have blanked them completely if the offense hadn't kept handing the ball to Miami in ridiculous field position in the 1st quarter.
Maybe you should concentrate on the fact that our offense looks as attractive as a bloody pile of donkey shit instead.
Dude if it was me I would fire Schottenheimer right now and promote Callahan to the job. I'm as sick of the horrible offensive performance as you are. Still, the defense played great today. Not all is lost.
If you would open your eyes you'd see that it's hardly just schottenheimer to blame. The o-line is playing terribly, the WR's can't seem to catch a cold and Nacho is playing like a rookie.
