I think that things are starting to come together for us on defense (10 points allowed, 7 forced turnovers over the last 2 games) because young players are getting better, and because we are simply better than we had shown. I also think that Bill O'Brien is starting to really mature as an offensive coordinator. He is starting to have that Belichick mentality where he is not afraid to call any play in any situation, and it is making our offense real dangerous and unpredictable. I have been thinking forever that we should pass more on 1st down, because we have by far the best (and most consistent) short passing game in the league. Early in the game on Sunday, we were passing the ball more on 1st down than running, and it was obvious that the bears could not defend both. I am sure that many fans around the league are hoping that we are simply riding a hot streak that is about to cool off, but I believe that we have grown stronger in fundamental ways, and may be even better in coming games. The only way I see a team beating us is by capitalizing on our few mistakes (bears athletic linebackers got their hands on 3+ brady passes, but could not come down with a single interception) and playing mistake free football. If we can continue to put up points early in games, this is going to be almost impossible for opponents to do.
