So, in my main league there is no trade deadline. A lot of the owners in our league are usually pretty hesitant to make any trades, but I've pretty much been making moves all year to get my roster to where it is now.

I proposed a trade which was accepted by the other owner. The other owner is not in the playoffs as opposed to myself, and is playing in the consolation bracket. His team is pretty much hot garbage save one or two players, one of which I traded for. Trade was...

    I GAVE:
    TE Dustin Keller
    RB Shonn Greene
    RB Jonathan Stewart
    WR Kenny Britt

    I GOT:
    RB Adrian Peterson

Making my roster as follows for the playoffs:
    QB - Philip Rivers
    RB - Adrian Peterson
    RB - Ray Rice
    WR - Andre Johnson
    WR - Mike Wallace
    FLEX - Jamaal Charles
    TE - Kevin Boss
    K - Garrett Hartley
DEF - Atlanta (Dallas on bench)

Now, the owner agreed on the value, his main wideout was Dez Bryant (who I traded him earlier in the year), and with him on IR he was happy to get Kenny Britt who is returning as well as Stewart who is finally getting into a bell cow RB type mode.

Other owners in our league are complaining because he is trading with me when I'm in the playoffs and he is not. I said if that's some sort of problem then there should have been a trade deadline.

Am I correct in my reasoning?

You're right, there was no rule that you broke your in the clear. If this trade went down during the regular season I'd say you paid to much. Considering its the playoffs and only a few weeks left, nice grab.

Thanks, and yeah during the regular season I would have never offered so much, but being playoffs now (and with my opponent this week having some pretty favorable matchups) I felt like I might as well try and make an offer that I knew he'd accept.

I could debate both sides here...

But I think the debate winner and trade winner should be you. Hope All Day's ankle holds up for you/me/and AP. (Screw MIN) Also betting they have a trade deadline next year...

I would have a severe problem with this if I were in that league. Peterson is the 1st or 2nd overall pick and produces as such. That trade was way lopsided. Shame on the comissioner of the league for not having a trade deadline though.
