It's been discussed, the closest sack he had to being "key" was the one where we were up 14 w/ 4 mins to play against NE

I bet the people who are hating on him now are the same who hated on him when he signed

I hated the signing, HATED it. Once he finished off Brady I was on board.

Rex did say he's earned more time, so maybe he'll get more pressure and some sacks this weekend.

Taylor is the least of the problem with this defense. Jenkins going down didn't help, and what are the DE's. What have they done this year? As someone pointed out earlier, I'm more disappointed in Calvin Pace's play. I thought he and Taylor would make a fearsome tandem. NOT!!! Could you imagine how bad things would have been if Revis had held ot?

Agreed ... and that was the point of this thread. Where has this guy been exactly?? Aside from a few plays some people have pointed to he hasn't done what he was brought in here to do ... bolster our pass rush.

I know he's 36, but he's also supposed to be a goddamn HOF player and a leader. By comparison, Michael Strahan came out of retirement at the same age or even older and led the Giants to the Superbowl.

I'd really like to see this guy step up and do something the rest of the year.

Different defense ... same role ... put some pressure on the QB ... and maybe provide some leadership out there. Just making a point that HOF'er Strahan got it done, but HOF'er Taylor hasn't ... at pretty much the same age.

And before someone says it ... YES, I know Strahan had alot of help from Osi and Tuck.

??? He's a 36 years old pass rusher who is here on essentially a one year $1.75 mil contract. What the hell did u expect? He has played much better than a $1.75 mil pass rusher.

That's not really fair. One of his sacks was on Colt McCoy on Cleveland's last possession in overtime on 3rd and long. If Taylor doesn't make that play, it's possible McCoy converts a first down there and we never get the ball back.

To be fair to Taylor, the guy only got 15 snaps this past week. Both Rex and Pettine mentioned that he has earned more playing time for this upcoming week.

It's already been discussed... apparently it was somehow McCoy's fault that he got sacked there so I guess according to some people the fact that it was Taylor that made the play it counts less in significance.

I think the actual reasoning is that McCoy was simply trying to get tackled after stepping out of the endzone to keep the clock running. He was by no means still looking to run or pass for a first down.

lol, really? I'm too lazy to go back through this thread and read every post but that's pretty asinine, IMO.

But what does that have to do with the fact that Taylor got into the backfield and was there to capitalize?

    Don't bother.

It may have been brought back up in this thread but the actual discussion about how Taylor didn't do anything good on the play is in a totally different thread.
