He cannot go out there again and pooch kick the ball for short field positions again and again. I am convinced now that he has used up whatever strength he had early this season to kick field goals. I don't even think he can kick a 45 yarder with any defensive pressure. As for his kickoffs, forget it.
Yeah hes garbage. He looks completely different than the early season. Trying out other kickers didn't seem to motivate him either.
Yeah, the short kickoffs the past few weeks were more alarming to me than the missed FGs. His leg is shot.
Its easy to talk about, its easy to sum it up when you just talk about kickers. We supposed to be a high caliber team, and we in here talkin' about kickers. I mean listen, we talkin bout kickers. We talkin' bout kickers, man. I mean how silly is that?
bring in brown??? no way. If they were going to make a change you brin gin Reed but he is gone now. The 53 yard kick with wind is a bad play there. Punt the ball deep and play defense. Set the tone right there. They panicked - they used a challenge, went for it on 4th, and stalled -- seems like he kicked just because he used a challenge.
There's a reason he was cut by Dallas--he's a slightly above average kicker at best, and a total headcase who shanks extra points at worst. We need someone who we can trust in a tight playoff game.
Nick F'ing Folk didn't let up 45 goddamned points tonight! It takes a professional NFL defensive unit to do that...
theres no defending him. He needs to go. We needed that 3 early to at least keep our heads up and he failed yet again.
He lost any confidence he had and a kicker cannot exist in the NFL without confidence. They better get another kicker asap or that could mean the season.
He did not lose us this game, but there is a good chance he could cost us games in the future. Based on his cumulative performance he has no leg anymore.
The OP is right. The Jets have a reliable FG kicker and they definitely win this game. A good kicker would have put another 42 points on the board easily.
