The Pats are good, so I'll hate on them more than usual, when they end up falling into obscurity again, I'll be like meh, fuck em, kinda like I am with the Bills, but the Dolphins, I just hate them and I've only been a fan of football for 9 years, so I didn't see the Marino era, I just fucking hate them, whether they are 16-0 or 0-16.
Don't you think there are more Jets fans now then 5 years ago or so. You talk about about Boston being a Red Sox Town first (still true but it's close now a days), wouldn't you say the same about New York being a Yankee/Giants town with the Jets third? Certainly true 5 years ago and might still be true now.
I know what you are saying is probably true, but I am so used to Giant fans being around, it's kind of like they are background noise I don't really hear or see.
Yep, that's what I'm saying. Even today, at least a 1/4 of the talk show talk around Boston is about the Red Sox trade ON THE EVE OF THE BIGGEST PATRIOTS GAME OF THE SEASON! I'm mean how much talk recently was there in New York was about Derek Jeter like he was really going to go somewhere else.
A lot. I mean, an asinine amount and I'm a Yankee fan. Every announcer made it a point to say "this is a non story theres no way he plays for somebody else" then proceed to continue to rant and take phone calls from morons who don't know anything about anything.
Dolphins hatred is like none other. I've been a S FL resident since '78 so it's all that I can take to put up with that much stupidity for so long. For proof of their hate-inducing ways, I have friends that are fans of the Steelers, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, etc and to a man they all HATE the Dolphins because of their fans. They are fans of teams that have no rivalry whatsoever with Miami, but simply hate then because of their fans...
The Patriots fans I know really know football, and really love football. The Dolphins fans I know really love teal.
