Gusts around 30mph tonight. Not sure if it hurts or helps. NE passing game is their entire offense but they dont throw the ball deep like we do. Then again we are a running team and have a great run D but we throw a lot of deep passes.
I can't comment about the weather until soxxx reports it. Outside of all his horrible throws and decisions last time in New England....Sanchez did have one very nice long TD pass to Cotchery against the wind on a rope last year.
The wind is howling I was at the stadium this morning for Mike & Mike, it was cold then. I'd say the wind chill is about 0* this evening I think the Jets will have the edge, via the running game.
I can confirm that Patriots fans confirmed that their is going to be gusts of 30 miles of hours winds.
The Patriots are 13th in rushing with a 112.5 average per game and 13 TDs As the Jets have 9 TDs rushing. Yes the Jets average more yards per game rushing but at this point it looks like the Patriots running game is more productive. So how do you come to your idea?
The patriots running game only exists because defenses have to respect brady and the passing game. If you think the patriots can line up and run it down the throat of a defense at will.. Well, it ain't happening. Danny Woodhead and Benjarvus Green Ellis are not premier backs. Having Brady complete passes down to the 2 yard line followed by a BJGE TD from a yard out doesn't mean theyre more 'productive'.
My heart is beating faster than Weatherford's... PLAY LIKE A JET! and oh yeah... BRADY TAKES IT UP THE ASS, DOO DAH, DOO DAH
RapSheet: As the flurries come down, we’re live from Gillette Stadium for Patriots-Jets http://bit.ly/gZkrQD #bh_sports Flurries are cool, a heavy snowfall would be cooler
I was just outside, and I live about 15 minutes from Foxborough. It's blowing. I don't know how that translates into miles per whatevers, but it's blowing.
1237 yard is not only giving it to a running back at the 1 yard line. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is averaging 4.3 ypc. Danny Woodhead is averaging 5.4 ypc LaDainian Tomlinson is averaging 4.5 ypc. Shonn Greene is averaging 4.1 ypc. I simply do not see a major advantage for the Jets that is all I am saying.
I think you mistook my post as being some kind of negative. I am only pointing out the fact that the Patriots running game is more than just an after thought. The colts now that is an after thought.
You're ignoring the point I made about the running game succeeding as a testament to the respect the patriots passing offense receives. Defenses stack 8 in the box against the jets and make Sanchez beat them with the pass. When the patriots play defenses generally disregard the run and spread out their DBs to counter the pass. Like I said, the patriots can not line up and run it at will. They run to set up play action and they run as a change of pace. Yes, the statistics are there to support your claim but I'm speaking in relation to the talent and realistic potential of the patriots running game. Also, I'm not saying the running game is bad, but it's not as great as the stats proclaim.
OK I think we may only be looking at to sides of the same coin not big deal. As I have said a number of times to people it isn't why you are successful only that you are.
