Update: Fiedler (shoulder) attended the last day of the Buccaneers' minicamp on Thursday, the St. Petersburg Times reports. Recommendation: With Luke McCown (torn ACL) out, the Bucs are looking for a veteran backup to starting quarterback Chris Simms, and Fiedler apparently is at the top of the Bucs' short list at the moment. "We're looking into his situation," head coach Jon Gruden said after the Bucs invited Fiedler to observe practice. Fiedler was a backup with the Eagles when Gruden was the offensive coordinator there in 1995-97, so while Gruden's offensive schemes have evolved in the meantime, Fiedler has some basic familiarity with Gruden's system. Fiedler underwent surgery in December to repair a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder.
I think Fiedler is preety done. Hes just good to be a back up and thats whats he going to be for the rest of his career.
