not saying they're right, but Scarnecchia was also with the pats. And a known offender with them in 04.
Seems to me they found a fall guy and the person responsible still has his job. One might note who the person responsible is by the fines handed out by the league.
No, it was 2007 and it was the Patriots that were caught videotaping the Jets. The controversy was dubbed 'spy gate'. It's very likely the Patriots filmed other opposing teams and coaches as well. The videotaping focused primarily on coaches for information on the signals and play calling. It's also highly likely the information from the tapes helped unfairly win 3 Super Bowls*.
NFL Total Access talked about this for about 30 seconds of a 90 minute show. NFL is going to do everything they can to try to make this go away asap.
We have no idea what the truth is, of course, but it seems monumentally unlikely to me that some random employee would take it on himself to do this without any instructions/suggestions from someone higher up the food chain.
It's clearly a lie that the NFL and Broncos are putting out there. No way that Mcdaniels wasn't aware of this.
Notice the above statements do not say that McDaniel did not learn or hear described to him what was on the videotape. His now-fired spy could film it, break down the plays, tell McDaniel what was on the tape, and now, the NFL can say that the video was only on one computer and no one from the organization saw it.
It's actually kind of disgusting but you have to give the Pats credit for finding stupid people in to hand over draft picks for players that have become useless to the Pats. Deion Branch Randy Moss Matt Cassell Richard Seymour Lawyer Milloy Lawrence Maroney I'm sure there are more as well All guys the Pats have gotten rid of that probably were useless at the time and became even more useless once they were traded. It's funny we celebrated the Moss trade but I wish he was still there creating distractions and being a slouch.
