    Draft related:

Just before the draft in late April, we were predicting who the Jets would select at #29.

Looks like Rex liked DM also.

I was wrong, the Jets drafted Kyle Wilson, never thought he would be available.

IMO, If the Pats drafted Wilson, DM would have been a Jet..no doubt.

I really wanted McCourty, his skillset and special team ability were a great fit for Gang Green, especially with Manning shredding our #2, 3 & 4 CBs.

RYAN: McCourty reminds me of Revis

"I'm not talking about the type of player, but just the kind of passion he has, he reminds you of Darrelle (Revis), a guy that just eats it up and loves playing," Ryan said. "Their coach told me he had over 100 snaps in one game, because he played a ton of snaps on defense, and he played all the special teams.

"The kid is legit ... there's no question about it. He's a great kid."

The Patriots took McCourty with the 27th pick, two spots before the Jets chose another corner, former Boise State star Kyle Wilson. Ryan said he wasn't surprised McCourty has already locked down a starting spot in the Patriots' secondary.

"We loved him, too," Ryan said. "I think he went (two) picks in front of Kyle, but both those guys were right next to each other."

Despite his struggles Monday night against the Ravens, Ryan also praised Wilson, saying the rookie from Boise State had the best man-to-man coverage skills of any player in April's draft.

I would have taken either one.

I just like the fact that Wilson was my #1 favorite pick for the Jets since I started scouting players in January. Its nice when the top present on your wish list is delivered to you on Draft Day.

I would've been happy with McCourty, but I love Wilson. The position they're putting him in is crazy for a rookie, but he was great last week.

    KW is gonna be awesome.

Choice between Wilson and McCourty...I prefer Wilson. McCourty is a great player, just like KW's potential better.

I don't think any of us on this forum would have thought KW would be an option at #29.

Kyle Wilson will be the better Pro, just couldn't believe he would be available.

Minnesota thought they had Kyle Wilson in their hip pocket...suckers. Minny's management probably thought the Jets would never draft a CB with Revis and Cro.

I was a big Odrick guy, but I was thrilled that Wilson fell.

I would have been more than happy with either guy, one's a Jersey guy and the other went to RU, can't get better than that.

And I can attest to DMC running over 100 plays in a game, he was a special teams monster. Even if he completely sucked at corner he'd still have a place on a team because of how good he is on specials.

I ran around my basement going apeshit when we got Revis.

Then my friends showed up randomly to my house and made me go to six flags. I was drunk so I didn't mind. My other friend kept me informed of Jets draft picks, and when he told me we got David Harris I celebrated in the middle of a crowded area.

    People were staring. Good times.

dont you remember though? the word was Harris was gonna be a Colt, then they drafted Anthony Gonzalez.

i was screaming my brains out pumping my fist.

ahhhh what a awesome draft lol.

    hahaha

I think on NFLN there was a lot of predictions about Harris going to the Pats because he was the perfect 3-4 player for that scheme.

    Thankfully he's not a Patriot.

I would perfer Wilson still. I like his potential better, and I think if he develops he can become the next Charles Woodson.

Wilson does tackle pretty hard which reminds me of Woodson. Just guessing but I was probably way off on that.

Don't get me wrong, Darrelle Revis is awesome, but Charles Woodson is the best corner to play the game since Deion Sanders.

You can't compare someone like Kyle Wilson to Charles Woodson. I mean, Woodson won the Heisman Trophy for christ's sake.

i think Revis is a better corner than Woodson. But Woodson is the better football player. He can play all over the field at a very high level. but as a shutdown corner at least right now revis is better.

I agree that Revis is the better corner right now and he could definitely have a better career, but Charles Woodson is a guaranteed Hall of Famer...I have to give him his credit. He's done it for a longer period of time and he's set the bar high just like Sanders before him.

It's awesome know that the Jets have today's most dominant defensive back. I hope Revis keeps up this high level of play forever and gets to the Hall of Fame.

I can see Wilson being the next Al Harris.

    That's a damn good career.

And the dreads are just a coincidence.
