Beltre is extremely average and the Dodgers were wise to not pay his ridiculous demands after his probably steroid fueled contract year. Lo Duca and Mota are confirmed steroid users. Green who knows but he was obviously not the same player after 2002.
Adrian Beltre had probably the best year of his career last year, but he tends to follow those years up with pretty average years. Still, he's a great third baseman. You could do a lot worse in free agency. -X-
Beltre has had 2 good seasons out of 13 and both of the good seasons occurred when he was playing for a contract. Any team that offers this guy a long term deal is extremely foolish.
This coming from a Jets fan, really? The Mets have such a built in advantage due to their location and payroll that it would be ridiculous to ever write them off completely. Hell, they almost won the World Series 4 years ago with Wilpon, Minaya and Randolph in charge. Sandy Alderson is a good GM and they can afford to bring in top talent, the Mets won't be down for too long.
What the fuck kind of gayass fucking post is this. We know you don't like the Mets, we get it, but the post is pointless as hell, if they bother you that much then why even waste any time commenting on them, or you could avoid the thread altogether.
Yeah, but TommyGreen has repeatedly informed us that Yankees fans never start trouble with Mets fans. Obviously, his post was some sort of mistake. Maybe his computer typed that stuff when TommyGreen wasn't looking. Or a fuckin' ghost did it.
That's Beningo and Roberts in Florida. They're in 2nd to the last row all the way back in center field. Mets got swept that weekend and they went to every single game.
I couldn't resist. Ripping on the Mets is just too much fun. And you guys are still jealous, Yankee-hating douchebags.
At the time they were all clicking as a team. Lo Duca was one of the team leaders and Mota was seting up for Gagne. A handful of them came back to sweep us in 2006 and celebrate on our field in the playoffs, they couldn't have been too bad. I'm still waiting for Choi to break out of his slump. The only good players Depodesta brought in were an aging Jeff Kent and Derek Lowe. We got sporadic production from Brad Penny and JD Drew for a while in between injuries, aside from that Depo was a disaster. Milton Bradley helped for a while too, but I can't fault him for that. We got him for nothing from Cleveland and knew how it was going to end, the only question was when.
