http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/21587/jets-own-lightest-power-rankings-schedule Power Rankings are obviously flawed, but I thought this was interesting none the less.
the funny thing is....after watching the last 2 Jets games...I wouldn't expect any of our remaining games to be considered "easy". The Jets have to earn every yard...every week....IMO.
I'm hoping the offense has turned a corner, and is maybe ready to lift off to new heights. Holmes is clearly more comfortable in the offense now, Greene is going to start getting more carries and maybe we'll be doing more hurry up to jump start things. If the offense can be consistently productive we could start blowing teams out.
I hope you're right. Because the Jets did a lot of talking in the offseason....their opponents will play them much harder...as we found out last week against the Lions. I think the Jets will (and have) rise to occasion....but it won't be an easy task...week in and week out. At the very least....the added competition will certainly have the Jets battletested for the playoffs.
What really bothered me about Holmes last week is that there were a couple of plays where it looked like he ran the wrong routes and/or wasn't expecting the ball when it came. Boomer E. said the same thing on WFAN. I'm dreading the big pick for the TD if he ever turns the wrong way on a route.
Future Schedules for AFCE (Games above/below 500) NYJ: -4 Pats: +3 Fish: -1 Bills: 0 Other teams of interest- Games above/below 500 - Opponents of note Bal: -3 - Does not include last night's game - TB, Pitt, NO Pitt: -8 - NE, Bal, NYJ Indy: -2 - NE, Tennx2 Tenn: +6 - KC, Indx2 Pittsburgh looks like they have a good shot at teh #1 seed already. They do have those three tough games but they can win in Baltimore and have NE and the Jets at home.
I didn't notice that, but it is a concern. We saw troubles with Sanchez to Edwards last year for that reason. It was promising to see him more involved in the offense though, and making a big impact. Once that passing attack really starts to click opposing defenses are going to have a difficult time putting 8 in the box to stop our running game.
Far as I know, the Jets need to prepare & play like they're facing the Patriots every week from here on out. Forget this easy schedule nonsense.
The decieving thing about that is that the second half of the Jets remaining schedule is slightly tougher (on paper) than the first half was. Ravens 6-3 Patriots 6-2 Dolphins 4-4 Bills 0-8 Vikings 3-5 Denver 2-6 Packers 6-3 Lions 2-6 29-37 Browns 3-5 Texans 4-4 Bengals 2-6 Pats 6-2 Dolphins 4-4 Steelers 6-2 Bears 5-3 Bills 0-8 30-34
