Fantastic ending for Sanchez, I think that was a huge step forward for him. he showed great composer, with roughly 4 minutes to go down by 10, Sanchez drives 56 yards down the field and scores a TD. Stupid Refs make take 15 seconds to make the call, how that is allowed is beyond me. In this drive was a beautiful pass to Keller for 25 yards and also a 6 yarder in there too. Our D does it's job holds them to 3 and out and gets a helpful drop by Felton. 1:40 left to play, no Timeouts, Sanchez drives us 60 yards down field for the game tying FG. Included in this drive was a 11 yard pass to Keller. Then of course the game winning drive, 3 crucial well executed drives in a row. My main point in this on top of Sanchez stepping up big time, is how Keller was involved in these scoring drives. Schotty must realize this, when our offense looked great Keller was getting many calls toward him, they've strayed away from that. When Keller does his thing, teams are forced to recognize that and it opens up plays for LT, and Holmes as we saw. I hope after how we ended the game yesterday Schotty finally realizes that. Keeping Keller involved = wins.
Even though there is nothing wrong with arguing that point, that wasn't even my argument. To say we are a 4-4 team is Bull Shit. We won 6 games, and we outplayed the opponent in all of those games. Our losses were due to bad mistakes and crazy obscure calls. The Denver game should have been a 17 point Jets win. I think if anything, we are a better team than our record shows. I don't feel that we were outplayed against Baltimore or Greenbay. I don't think any team outplayed us this year. We made stupid mistakes, and had bad/questionable calls at the worst times. To say we are a 4-4 team because we won a few close ROAD GAMES is total BS.
I can get behind that. I think it's great we've found a way to win despite how crappy the team has played on offense. That's the point...I want to see this team put that kind of play behind them and start whipping some ass. As to the stuff you are mad at.....sorry you don't see it (or dont want to see it) but yes this team is easily 4-4....and no you don't get to say our team outplayed another team when our team scores errrrrr.... zero. Just doesn't work that way.
Every win counts. This was a good win. The Lions aren't a pushover anymore. If Stafford is able to comeback, the Lions will be competitive.
There are really very few teams in the NFL this year that don't even put up a fight (Dallas and Carolina come to mind). A team the Jets stomped out (The Bills) have played some very good teams right down to the wire and if it wasn't for no whistle on Ray Lewis' strip, the Bills may have beaten the Ravens.
Yep the team has been in every game....not question about that. We have won some games with last minute heroics.... Sanchez got to cut his teeth on some 2 minute drills and come out on top. We have overcome some shitty officiating, bonehead penalties and some uncharacteristic third and long (bad) defense.....and we are 6-2. Awesome. So now let's do that other thing that Super Bowl caliber teams do and throw some peeps some good ole fashioned beat downs....:metal:
That's dumb, after the first dumb post how dumb are you to keep on reading more dumb posts you dummy?
I kept hoping it would get better. I don't walk out of movies either. Sometimes you just walk away at the end wondering why you wasted your time in the first place.
Because the record is not a true indication for how a team is playing. When your supposedly "Superbowl Caliber" team is coming within one play of losing to medicocre teams with losing records...( 4th and long hail mary, and a made Nick Folk field goal just to tie a game) Not to mention getting shut out at home by anybody Then you would have to have blinders on not to see that the record belies the way the team has been playing.
you are what your record says you are. You act like you would be spouting off about roses and butteflies if you were a chargers fan with their number one rated offense and defense and their 3-5 record. You can piss and moan about stats, I'll take the wins.
WTF are you on about this time skippy? A desperation hail Mary, and two clutch Nick field goals justify your smug.... I am a realist not some glass half full glee club homer... That said, I'm a Jets fan...and I too will take 6-2... No one is fucking whining....read what I said....agree with it...disagree with it....but stop with the supercilious bullshit.
I did disagree with it. Read what I said and disagree with it, because I know you won't agree, and stop whining that I think your opinion sucks.
Show me where in this thread I ever talked about stats? Reading comprehension much? I'm talking about two games against shitty teams that we could have easily lost. I'm talking about wanting to see this team play championship caliber football for 4 quarters and not depending on last minute heroics to win. I'm talking about laying a goose egg at home against the last team we played with a winning record....all things that add up to team that's very fortunate to be 6-2 right now. All you seem to be talking about is....wait... What the fuck are you talking about?
Your talking about what if's and I want to talk about what happened. I can play your game too. We lost a game by one point to a Superbowl contender, What if the ref's don't make some questionable P.I. calls? Holy shit the Jets would be 7-1! It's the NFL man and if you think GB or Detroit (with Stafford) are teams that the Jets should just roll over then I don't know what to tell you. Look around the league and see that almost every team is capable of beating anyone on any given day. I find it hard to believe that fans of the Jets can have an issue with how the Jets won yesterday when you had to sit and watch the Patriots make a dynasty out of winning games like that in the early 2000's. Winning teams find ways to win while losing teams find ways to lose. Yesterday's game showed you just how fine the line between being a winning or losing team really is. I'm glad the Jets have finally become a team that wins those games because they will need to win a game or two like that in January.
