This is exactly what I did and was the 1st game I ever missed Kickoff!
    It was sooo worth it.

Watching the AssFins throwing and giving the Gaytriots a chance to tie and goto OT...
just to see that and go into the stadium into an absolute FRENZY!!

I was in a sports bar in Greensboro, NC that catered to all Cleveland fans with 2 co-workers who were Browns fans. It was me the lone Jets fan and 50 or so Browns fans with the game on every damn TV! I don't know if any of them knew the scenario for the Jets but I finally convinced the bartender to put the NE/Miami game on also. I sat there like a lunatic rooting for the Browns or NE to lose. My friends wanted to go once the Browns had won but I convinced them to stay for the end of the NE/Miami game - now all the late games are on too so I'm standing in the middle of the bar with my head whipping back & forth between the Jets game & the NE/Miami game. When Vinitari hit that field goal I must have jumped 5 feet in the air I was so freaking happy. When I looked at the tv with the Jets they had just been flagged for something (pass interference maybe?) when all of a sudden the crowd goes crazy! I remember the players looking at each other wondering what the hell all the cheering was for since the flag was AGAINST the Jets! Mean while I'm jumping up and down and woo hooing like crazy...the whole place was staring at me like I was nuts....LMAO. Like someone said earlier, gave me the chills when it happened and still does today!

I was with my brother, dad, and the regulars who attend Jet games with us or tailgate with us weekly. Had a TV Setup to watch the Falcons/Browns game. After the Browns scored towards the end of the 4th quarter which seemed to put the game out of reach (although the Falcons had a chance at the end) and the Pats/Fins game wasn't looking good me and my brother decided to just go in. My dad stayed back because if the Pats won as well he wouldve had a hard time going in. As we are going in the escalater up to our seats we hear a few people say the Pats tied it up and were going to OT. Then in our seats heard that the Pats got the ball in OT. Then the entire stadium started to erupt slowly in groups as people with radios found out that the Pats had won the game. By the time they put the highlight up in the stadium the entire stadium erupted and went nuts. My dad who stayed outside to see the end of the game said there were still thousands of people outside watching the Dolphin game and going nuts. That was probably my greatest experience at a Jet game and I was at the Monday Night Miracle. BTW just got chills typing this out.

I remember that game vividly. They couldn't stop our offense.... a pre-rotator cuff surgery Pennington was pretty good.

I saw a grown man begin to cry in the parking lot while the Cle and NE games were still going on (when neither one was looking good for us).

I remember we were watching the NE game on the TV in the concession stand in the concourse when some dickhead working there changed the channel to a billiards game. We all yelled at him to no avail before going to our seats. Thank god for portable TVs and radios because the way that crowd exploded into cheers was unforgettable.

i remember that there were some people in the stadium with radios/tv's who knew what had happened before it was shown on the big screen... there was a murmur throughout the upper deck and then they showed the kick on the board and the place went nuts... those two games back to back were the two best weeks of jets football for me.

this was easily the most fun ive ever had at a jets game

i remembered going to the gate where the players came in . Mo Lewis asked what the score to the dolphin game was. Someone said they were winning and he just smiled anrf said i aint scared. they gonna choke, they always do.

we went into the stadium and it was tense. the falcons had just lost on the final play and you could just feel the frustration in the air.

Everyone had radios ormini tvs or was on the phone at home. I remembered 3 things. some guy shouting -They (miami) SHANKED THE PUNT!! and hearing scattered cheers

then there was a j-e-t-s but nobody followed

Then, with the captains in the middle of the field the crowd roared- pats tied it.

the game started but nobody knew. everyone was screaming for info- whats goin on? hey what the score, it was frightful chaos. Then, after a incompletion to donald driver , with the packers in the huddle some guy with a radio shouted holy shit!! yeah!!!!!! and the place went absollutely batshit. actually crazy, like stadium shaking crazy. the funny thing was that half the staduium didnt know but just assumed what happened. then they showed it on the screen and everyone found out. CHAOS ensued. next play ellis destroyed favre for a 17 yd loss and the jets never looked back

the whole gmae was a blur. it felt like we scored a td every time. i remember being upset at a lamont jordan td cuz i just wanted it to end already. I remeber randy thomas waving a flag and mawae falling to his knees.

it was one of those games where the crowd just lingered for a while, not knowing what to do with themselves. i pulled a muscle in my back cheering the santana moss spin td so that was annoying. i also remeber there was a really fat guy in front of me who got pissed when people stood up. sorry, fatty, no way anybody was sitting down.

i thought we could win it all that day. i really did.

the whole game is on youtube btw

One of my best friends is a Dolphin fan, and we've been going at each other for years. That might have been my best day in our rivalry.
Actually, the Dolphins were up by 11 ... with the ball ... and about 3 minutes to play.

I remember that Miami seemed to have the game in hand, so I was putting my hopes on Atlanta at that point. The Falcons were down by about 4 late in the game and had the ball for 1st and goal inside the 5 yard line and I was feeling pretty good about our chances. Cleveland game up with a game saving goal-line stand and all the air went out of my tires.

I switched to the Dolphin-Pats and hoped for a miracle. Inexplicably, Dave Wannstedt went ultra conservative deep in his own territory when a simple first down would have won the game and the division for the Dolphins. The Fish punted and the Pats did the rest. The look on his face while he watched the division go down the drain will forever be etched in my brain. I swear I thought he was going to burst into tears right there on the sideline.

I thank the earphones guy who used to sit next to me in the stadium and the little kid with the watchman TV for providing updates on the NE/Miami game while the Jets game began. The stadium crowd that day was so tense like we were going to a funeral rather than a football game.

When the Pats won, people began smiling, cheering and having a hell of a time rooting for our Jets to win. The team seemed to feed off the emotion from the fans and kicked the crap out of unsuspecting Green Bay. I was also borderline wasted walking into the stadium so I had a hell of a good time.

One fantastic day in Jets history!

I remember that 41-0 abortion game against the Colts. I say abortion because I came back from a 4 day Dry Tortuga's fishing trip with the worst virus ever. I was puking for 2 days straight. I just remember listening to the game while driving home from the Keys, with puke everywhere on me laughing, somehow enjoying that game. I guess it was the puke bowl.

    Good times good times.

I think going with Chad's bro is a good choice too. Pennington won the battle of the gene pool here.

It was my birthday, Dec. 22 my Dad tells me that if I can find 2 tickets for the Jets Packers game, that hed buy them and take me. After hunting around for a few days untill late in the morning I found a set. Cool we were going to a Jet game, thats it, thats how I felt at the time.

Gameday. Good day for tailgating, got the TV working good and I believe the Cleveland game was televised, maybe one of the other games to. We had the new york post strewn about with the Playoff scenarios and all, just like everyone else but it was still a distant dream, we were just keeping up to stay busy at the time, nothing had really hit us yet.

Food was good, we tossed the football, ya know the whole deal. My dads friend calls us and asks if we know where he can score some last minute tix for the game, he and his family were up at some ski lodge and his son was a packers fan, he didnt know we were at the game. We find him some tickets and tell him how to find us in the parking lot, so he comes and joins us with his wife and kid.

He starts torquing me up as usual about how the Jets have no chance in this game, Green Bay is gonna slaughter us, balh blah blah, didnt matter I remained confident, nothing was gonna ruin this day for me. He says to me, "If the Jets win this game, I will become a Jets fan for life..." Ok old man. They split after that, i dont remember where they went.

Gametime is approaching, the scenarios arent looking good, we gave in and started packing up to head into the game, even though it wasnt going to mean anything.

Once we got to the end of the parking spaces in the lot we were in, all the sudden the enitre parking lot EXPLODED. Horns are honking, guys are screaming and yelling, people running and scattering in all directions. And me and my dad are bewildered...what could be happening?

Luckily we were near one of the ESPN tents so when hurried inside. Once in we find out the deal, you guys know all about it, NE blocked a punt or something and are in in great position to tie the game or some shit. This part is a blur to me, it felt like I was in there forever, but it also passed by like that. Whatever had happened when NE tied it up to send it into OT, there was another EXPLOSION. Grown men were high fiving and hugging complete strangers, euphoria, relief, premature celebration? Wed soon find out.

We decided at that point that whatever was gonna happen was gonna happen so we headed inside for OUR game. We missed kickoff I think Santana may have returned a kick or something? Not sure.

We got to our seats and the game is playing out, nothing to crazy pretty calm. Guys all around on their cell phones but Im paying no mind. I believe the Jets were on defense when it happened, the stadium ERUPTS everyones yelling and the Jets players are all looking around as if to say " What did we do?" Shortly after the PA announced that Vinaterri had kicked the Jets into contention. Throttle up take your seat and prepare for takeoff.

The Jets went on to win one of the best games Ive ever attended, nonstop adrenaline, no worries, we won that game as soon as Vinaterri booted that kick thats how I felt anyway, Nothing could stop us.

To wrap it up, I know i typed a whole bunch of shit you guys probably wont read, but that was the greatest sportsday, and one of the best days of my life and I will never forget it. Jets AFC East Champs, I was there. Oh yea and that guy followed through, hes a Jet fan to this day.
