They were paper champs lats year as well. the schedule gods have been kind to the giants lately. they were the 1st team ever to play their 1st 5 games against winless teams (0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, 0-4) before facing the 5-0 also saints and getting demolished. The concern i have is they are barely beating bad teams with back-up QBs and get blown out by the only 2 good teams they faced (indy and Tenn) Even with the easy schedule i can see them losing 6 of their last 7 games after beating Seattle and dallas and finishing up 8-8 again after starting 7-2, in which they will balme somehting other then the fact they aren't more then a average team

Not saying either team is a lock to get there, but does no one know what happens if the Jets and Giants were to both host conference Championship games? Usually the game are played within 4 hours of each other on Championship Sunday. Just curious what the league would do if this scenario were to occur. I figured this would have been something the league would have addressed ahead of time.

My guess is that they'd have to do a 1PM and an 8PM game instead.

That makes sense. Did the old stadium ever host more than 1 game in a day?

I was wondering aloud just the other day why it is that the Jets/Giants never developed a rivalry to speak of.

Islander/Rangers fans despise eaach other because they play in the same division and the all time series is so close.

Older fans of the NY Baseball Giants and Dodgers passed their haterd of the Yankees along to younger Mets fans..

Knicks /Nets.? Nets were the Washington Generals of the NBA for so long that Knicks fans actully felt pity for Nets fans....and by the time the Nets got any good the Knicks were floundering.

I guess either the Jets and Giants don't plaay each other enough...or maybe it's that football fans are so passionate that even if their team isn't in the Superbowl they are still going to watch the SB...and let's face it the SB is more fun if you are rooting for a team. So my hunch is most Jets fans have been Giants fans for a day at some point. (Giants vs NE for example)

A Jets/ Giants SB would be just the thing to ignite a true rivalry between the fanbases for the first time.
Id love to see it...would be a great story...especially if we beat the Colts in the AFC championship game to get there.

At least in '08, these threads emerged in Week 12 or so (and we all know how that ended). We're barely going into Week 8. Seriously??

    Interesting.

This isn't directed at you per se...
But I wonder how many folks that object to threads like this...also object to SOJ mentality posts.

Nothing wrong with having a bit of fun with some far fetched prognostication
No one is going to jinx anything.

Wheter or not the Jets make it to the SB will have nothing to do with what gets posted here.
Feel free to have fun with it and dream a bit.

It's what forums are for no?

I don't think that owuld work either, i would think they would have 1 on saturday and 1 on sunday probably. it takes about 12 hours just to change the field over. it was a tight squeeze from the giants 1PM sunday start to the Jtes 8PM monda night start on opening days. it owuld have to be 2 seperate days

If we had three rings in the bag from the last twenty years this might be of the slightest interest to us.

Considering we all just want to get there, most of us don't give a damn how, let alone who we play if we get there.

I guess that's a possibility too but then you get into short week disadvantage talk. Maybe they could get it done quicker with more guys? IDK

I'm not saying this shouldn't be discussed. I would personally wait until late in the season when we have a better idea of how our D comes together and how LT holds up come December. I'm beyond the SOJ pussified mentality. We are a good team that can beat/run with any other team in the league, but I'm also a firm believer of "Any Given Sunday". We've been fortunate with INTs, and we've eeked out wins at the end of the games. Those are what makes teams great, but we could easily be a 3-3 team, as much as a 6-0 team.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to being 6-1.

Why is everyone bashing the Giants? They're playing good football aside from the turnovers. People need to relax.

I don't think anyone is bashing them, were just being realistic.

week 1 Carolina (1-5) beat a horrible team
Week 2 Indy (4-2) got blown out
Week 3 Tenn (5-2) got blown out
Week 4 Chi (4-3) Niether team could move the ball. gianst finally eeked out a win when cutler went down and collins came in. The same collins who against carolina had 32 passing yards and 4 picks the following game
week 5 Hou (4-3) this is the only game i can say the giants actually played good against a good team. They juts flat out beat Hou
Week 6 Det (1-5) they had a back-up already in who got knocked out and was down to their 3rd string QB and it still came down to teh final drive
week 7 Dal (1-4) Were lsoing until romo got knocked out and kitna still almost beat them.

Do you seriously think they would beat the Giants team that was in Dallas last night 42-9?

Clearly the Jets would be at 1 PM, and the Giants would just have to play at 8 PM in a green-draped field, and LIKE IT. I'm sure Rex would leave Coughlin a goddamned snack on the sidelines to help ease the pain.

Hmm, 5 Turnovers and 3 of them coming very early in the game.

    I certainly think so.

Please, somebody come up with a better name for such a game. The teams do not play in New York City and you don't need to take the subway to get from one team's stadium to the other team's stadium.
